And finally my action shot of the day.

I'm putting mine up at http://www.skunkworks.net.nz/gallery/mtd130107
There's 200 pics in total (I'll take down the crap ones later). Having a problem with the 300mm lens so they're not the best.

Hey Skunk, how did the mighty ZXR145 go ??
What have you done to the tailpiece??

Skunk
14th January 2007, 12:51
I made it a Kawasaki part (KR1) - still got the old one. Went up a tooth at the front and tops out at 116kph for an average speed of 87 around the track. I need to improve my corner speed.

Image input equipment model: Canon EOS 20D

Thanks limbimtimwim. The lens is an old Canon Ultrasonic EF 75-300. On this camera it's effectively a 112-450mm. It's going to the tip soon because it's growing mould.

Shutter and 'film' speed was too slow. Should have used a manual setup. If you click on photo properties it tells you everything except the GPS position.

Those pics of yours are much sharper than mine. Very good shots.

If anyone wants higher res images of any of the pics on my site you can download them at 1600x1066px or email their code number and I'll send you the 3504x2336px ones.

I had a video camera mounted on my bike for the 'get to know the track' session. Couple things I found out:

1. the mount was not rigid enough. Last mount was too rigid for the amount this bike vibrates which made the camera turn off.
2. the 'no passing up the inside' rule stuffed me for passing on many corners as the slower riders sat too wide and I'm a gentleman (a rude one, but a gentleman).

So here, to induce seasickness is a very short, very small, clip from the camera. Quicktime or divx reqd.

Location, turn one following pit straight.

I didn't get to see the actual crash as I was looking up pit straight. I heard tyres squealing and turned to capture the following photos.

Well, I tried to upload the photos but KB is going really slowly. Is that happening to anyone else?
Will try again tomorrow.

I remember someone saying at a previous trackday that that yellow and purple gixxer goes pretty hard, obviously it bit this time. The side of it must look scratched to shit from that chunky gravel.

I don't know if these people are KiwiBikers but I reckon the riders and pillions deserve big respect. Both "teams" passed me no worries so here I was trying my best and this lot come past like they are on a Sunday ride up the Rimutaka's!
NB: The SS pillion was a young lad maybe 10-12years old, I gave him a big thumbs up when they passed me second time out - he was loving it!

Thanks for the pictures. I now understand what darkened visors are for ... so you can't see my damn chicken shit face.

Most impressed by limbimtimwim though. That man is hard on the brakes - check out the back wheel.

Think I found a shot which includes partially obscured fizzafulla, and a couple with 86gsxr - one you are going out of right shot, the other I think I recognise your helmet and part of bike at the back of the pack?
Sorry - this is best I can do for you guys, and I could not find any shots of Momentum.
