Nah Dover the latest album is unreal, and they're only knocking 40 mate.

Dave Lombardo is SOOOO much better than Paul Bostaph in this band.

Just about worth the trip for those feet.

OH. HELL. YES.

I have had lessons with some of the best in NZ.....I have seen some of the best in the world at drum clinics.... Dave is well worth seeing live.

Dave Lombardo (Sr.) (February 16 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/February_16), 1965 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1965), Havana (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Havana), Cuba (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuba))[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Lombardo#_note-0) is a drummer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drummer), best known as a member of Slayer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slayer).
Lombardo's work with Slayer has been called "astonishingly innovative." [2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Lombardo#_note-1)
His extremely able playing in all his repertoire and especially his live work has earned him a great reputation and consistent mentions in drum magazines and drum polls.

During the 2006 Unholy Alliance tour, Kerry King has stated that Dave Lombardo is a major attraction for the fans, and one of the reasons for their surge in popularity. King states that he wishes Paul Bostaph (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Bostaph) no ill will but prefers playing with Lombardo, as do the other band members. [4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Lombardo#_note-Kerry_King_about_Dave_Lombardo)

Have they been in NZ since they toured with Biohazard years ago? I think it was the Divine Intervention tour. That was the last time I saw them.. I was young lol.

Yep, they played at the Powerstation in AKL for the Diabolus tour. They didn't come here for God Hates Us All.

I'm so fucking there baby!!! Especially with the best drummer in the world behind the kit again for them, I've been listening to them since South Of Heaven, they are just fucking amazing. I was lucky enough to see Dave with Grip Inc. in London which was equally amazing.

See y'all at the show baby!!!!

If you saw them at the Wgtn Town Hall in 1995 then i had that same problem.
Worth every second though...awesome.

I saw them in 95, farking awesome, the highlight for me was watching some poor bastard get THROWN off the mezzanine floor!

Lias
15th January 2007, 16:00
It was the old town hall I think (for the welly concert at least) back in 1995 if my memory serves me correctly.. And I think Fat Mannequin opened.

I remember it being alot calmer than the first Pantera tour I saw at the old town hall. They were late opening the doors and this crowd of guys at the front of the crowd (whole square thing was packed) were on the verge of smashing the doors down (rattling the doors, bashing them with fists etc) and the whole sea of people was chanting PAN-TE-RA.. PAN-TE-RA.. and some lil stressed out dude cam onto the outside balcony with a megaphone trying to pacify everyone.

Ahh memories.

They are really good, very intense, took me a while to get used to their stuff but I reckon a good opener for Slayer anyhow. Leviathan is their best album I reckon.
