Hi, looking for a quality one-piece suit and I would like to hear your guys suggestions and opinions. What I want: high level of protection, something durable that wont rip apart in the event of an off, snug fit, "back hump" for pose value. only thing though, I have wide shoulders and a very small waist. Is something gonna fit of the shelf??

Dainese through either www.bimoto.be or www.market2ruote.it would be my choice. The good thing about Dainese suits is that not many have them so you don't see 50 other people on the road with your suit on. The Bora suit sounds like what you want. I have the same problem with my shoulders and have to wear a 56 when my other dimensions would suggest a 54.

Fit is one of the most important things. Too tight and you won't be able to move. Too loose and it will rub against your skin in a bin and you'll lose a bit.
Dainese has the name, and Rossi wears, and it looks like awesome quality stuff (not having worn it myself).
The Quasi stuff is awesome for the money though, and gives as much protection as you'll probably need (having crashed in one of his two-piece suits). Plus, I think he sells custom suits, so your Greek-God-like physique will be catered for.

Like everything else... shop around, find what is right for you regarding fit (comfort) and budget.
People go for different things... so you will get many answers in this thread - however what is important is what one-piece is best for you. That will be for you to decide.
But custom made leathers at a reasonable price makes sence... (i.e Quasi)
Your call :sunny:

I have a quasi road jacket from brett and im very impressed with the thickness of the leather and the kelver stitching.
Fit is one of the greatest concerns for me. I dont want loose leather everywhere. Can others here vouch for the fit of their custom quasi one-piece??

Im looking at Spidi, alpine stars (as I can get these on discount) or quasi or maybe technics, maybe shift as I want something local where I can physically go and see for trying on and backup. So I dont really wanna import any suits for this reason.

Understandable but you'll get murdered on the price compared with importing. Find one you like and then see if you can find someone local that has one in your size that you can try on. Then you can import one knowing that it'll fit. Seriously, I got a Dainese Pro Tech (then top of the line) landed for less than I could have got an Alpinestars entry level suit for locally. A friend of mine got an even better deal on a T-Age 1 piece suit (in cool stormtrooper white) a year later.

okay over 25 crashes each so far in QUASiMOTO gear and each item is still been worn, some gear crashed three times or more, you get some pulled stitching (which was fixed) and now you want to bag me at every opportunity???

My Dainese lasted for decades (including a few offs). I toured and raced in it.
I got a new suit not because it was worn out (well it was a little of course) but because of my older age I got just too fat for it and the extra leather bits being added to it were getting a bit ott.
A few months ago I did a bit of a shop around and found the latest Spidi to be a good fit/look/price combo. So far so good with them...

I would personally go for the Apstars suit. The quality of these suits are outstanding. Sure the are a bit more expensive than some of the cheaper suits, but you get what you pay for. Go to your local shop and try one on..if it fits, just import it(http://www.newenough.com/product_group_mens_alpinestars.htm ) for a way cheaper price.
You could also try these guys. i know two guys who has got a suit of them and it fits real well. They take about 20 different mesurements of you and work according to that.http://www.dainese.be/en/moto/intro/index.htm

My Favorite is the Dainese suits but they are expense and only available at decent prices Overseas. But the best leathers are ones that fit you. It is hard to judge crash protection because every fall is different and at different speeds. My Daineses had to be cut off me I was that fucked up but only cut was thru one finger of my glove.
Seen some good quality suits split seams in crashes but how can you attribute that to suit design or effect of crash.
Good luck in the search.

Hey Carver, I noticed one of your interests is Church! does it not say some where in the script to forgive and forget? Rome was not built in a day mate!
Your bleet about the Quasimoto gear was about a jacket that you claimed to all but live in! and did Quasi not fix the problem you were having along with a very thourough explanation as what the problem was with the gear.
Whilst I believe you think you are doing the world a favour with your posts, you really are doing yourself and others that you are continuing to bad mouth a real injustice.
And please try to stay on topic, the thread was started asking about a one piece suit, some thing you have no experience with in the Quasimoto range, I have personally witnessed 5 crashes from people wearing his gear, and all stood up and walked away with the suit in very good condition considering they have just binned it on a race track at some speed.
I am sponsoed by IXON leathers, that is what I should be trying to promote, ( And brilliant they are) but one thing I really hate to see is a KIWI who is trying to do there best get jumped on unfairly, and YES, Brett is a mate.

Ill second shauns comments 100 percent --Ive in the last couple of weeks seen 3 crashes at tracks in quazimoto gear--all with relatively minor damage-mostly er to the quazimoto words not to the actual structure of the leathers.
Im wearing a KBC suit which has held up pretty well to my crashes

I really love my Spyke One piece suit, though it's not a model that was imported to NZ.
I've previously had an AGV lower end suit (not bottom but stuill Pakistani made) a custom made set, plus another off the shelf set.
There is more than a little bit of "you get what you pay for" when buying leathers. Look beyond the flash harry graphics etc at:
1) the quality of the leather.
2) How is it stitched together - there is are good and bad ways. A good suit will have a line if stitching that by the way the leather is folded will be protected so the seam stays integral rather than bursting
3) What is the bodyarmour like - is it just plastic cups or real stuff. Lower end manufacturers may scrimp here as it is out of sight
4) what's it like when you are actually sitting on a bike in your normal riding position - this will be diferent to when you are standing up. I talk falsetto in my Spykes when not on the bike but oh so good on it.
5) What consideration is there to where the leather will bunch - like behind the knees
6) stretch panels - where you need them.
7) vented? Do you / don't you... my last 2 sets were and are great on the track - crap on the road in the rain!
8) zips, position and quality
8) ease of access - can you get in and out easily.
9) can you take the lining and body armout out - it's nice to clean them occassionally - should have seen the colour of mine when I washed them recently - and it they did smell okay before hand to. the water went dark, dark grey brown from the liner...
Even when I got too fat for my custom made suit (I was 17 and skinny when I got them) whn you put them on you just knew they were built for you.
Go look at lots to get a feel for what you get and what you like/don't like and never be scared to spend a bit and - it's your hide in it....

it was said that quasi gear gets good reviews....so i am on topic..
politics and religion intrest me man, but your assuming im a beliver.
Why do you think im "bad-mouthing" quasi?
everything i have said is true, and others have experienced similar things.
unfairly? I think there is cred in what i have said (about the gear)
if you read my post again, you will see that i am very happy with quasi's service, but not the product.
