Think hitting a metal fence is painful, then you see the one's hitting the concrete walls full bore. Those weren't tough guys after hitting that. Mushy and squishy maybe.

Had to laugh (nervously) at the hay bales spaced every 6 feet or so, so if they were lucky some part of their body might be protected by the bales while the rest smashes into the concrete.

Mucho respect to the oldschoolers. Funny you posted it now, was watching On Any Sunday (for the hundredth time) last night. Must have been great times.

Still just a dream....but possibly a new development on the horizon.

Surprisingly few deaths considering the smackups they have.As you see On Any Sunday,injuries don't mean much....they still ride.I remember the 1/2 mile Longtrack meeting at Claudlands in the mid '90's - there is a corrugated iron fence on the corners,and most of the flattrackers had never ridden the track,they just sent them out to race with no practice,then got upset with the carnage.We walked around the track afterwards - and there were a lot of slots in the fencing where the flattrackers bars tore into it.

Hay bales aren't soft either, they'd only be marginally better than hitting concrete

I can't see your clip Motu, but both the On Any Sunday movies had stories about guys crashing being patched up and riding on if I remember rightly. Tough stuff alright.

I have have one of these bikes in Oz and have made most of it tt350
very cool and light. look up the old guys in the 1960s AMA flattracker's... COOL !
