A sad sale but long story so I won't bore you with it. Main thing is I am choosing to sell rather than being forced to.

To clarify after some comments made below, this is the 05/06 model i.e. the one prior to the Gold frame. In many peoples opinion the better looking one! Obviously beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'll try and add a picture at the weekend.
Interested? Send me a PM.
Cheers.

18th January 2007, 14:01
Yes but add up the extras. And besides, if you look carefully it does say o.n.o.
Cans alone are $1500+ and what about the PCiii.
And not to be picky but new are $30K - $5.

Extras add up to nothing when selling great for buyer but not for putting the value of your bike up just because you have spent 10k on Bling . Sweet bike dude if you like the new shape & good luck with your sale , hope you buying something just as Tasty !!!

Yes bike is on Lambton Quay. Yes I was up the Takas onTuesday night.
Valid point, to some degree, regarding extras; like anything it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. However since I'm choosing to sell I'm not going to let it go for a song.
As thread states O.N.O so am willing to take offers.
Thanks for the thoughts.

Hay Flash.
Interested on a straight swap for the Ginny?
Extra's include
Original Pipe with a scratch
Original Foot pegs with the knobs wearing off due the Misses been a hoon on the Taka's
Original Seat
Original Tank
and Original Tires, again a little used. But then again their Ginny tires and will most probably out live the bike!
The other option is you can talk to FATJIM he might be interested in swapping his 998... Oh hang on a sec, I see something happening here. You guys are both sick of Italian's up your butts! Hmm I see a pattern here:shutup:

$27000, your shitting right????
Wow...:gob: good luck with that mate!!
I do think it's a tad high in price considering what we just paid for ours 2 weeks ago with less km's on it.
Don't get me wrong, the extras sound awesome but really only help to sell it as opposed to add value...sucky eh?

So the price is a bit high. That's why it says O.N.O. And let's face it a price is always a starting point.
For the sake of preventing spam I've dropped the price. No doubt there'll still be those questioning it but you can't please all!
Now $26K

Nah Bollox mate. The boy obviously stands by his price and if so then i'm sure he's prepared for comments. Comments such as the ones above are valid and help 'others', less fortunate in knowing prices, gauge fair market value.
nice bike mate with lotsa goodies, but if you want ya money back on teh fruit then strip 'em of and sell seperately. Like DMNTD said they will only help sell the bike, they don't add value

Sorry Boomer, but your lips are brown.
Just cause someone lists a price doesn't mean he wants people saying it's too much. Almost all of the listings on this site are too expensive, but it's just plain rude to comment. On the internet, we lose touch with manners.

Why are they valid, because you say so? They may be, but they may not. But something is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Someone may want a RSV-R with all those goodies, might like the '05 colour scheme (better than the naff '06 by a looooong way), doesn't have to muck around getting the thing dyno'd, tally the cost of it all and say it's all good value.
I can think of many senior members on this site that have been asking silly prices, for bikes without this amount of bling, and nobody said a thing! One day you'll sell a bike here, and you'll want a "fair suck of the sav" yourself.
Maybe he's fair game because of his post count, but he's not likely to even stick around and continue reading this site if this keeps up.

No offence taken. Constructive comments are helpful, I'm not a dealer so welcome advice!
But one question for those saying extras aren't worth anything:
Two bikes, same model, year, km's etc.
One is stock
One has aftermarket cans, power commander, dark screen or whatever extras you want to consider but is maybe a grand more and in your budget.
Which would you pick?
This is a loaded question I know. Different things suit different people but I bet the majority would pay the extra for the bling!

I don't consider that as rude or lack of manners; i'd say the same thing to someones face; maybe its my up bringing or lack thereof :dodge:

If I was selling my car on the side of the road, had an interested buyer looking at it, and someone else was loitering around saying "sheez mate, price is a bit steep!...you know you can get that cheaper somewhere else"...
I think I'd be a bit pissed.

At least the comments are keeping it at the top of the thread list which is good!

I must retract this statement as I've just found out that this particular '05 is a '05-'06 model as opposed to a 04-05 model!! This obviously changes it's apparent value somewhat
My bad but without pic's I assumed...my bad mate! :dodge:
I do suggest that clarifying this detail would help others not balls it up
Good luck with the sale

Ok. To clarify.
This is an 05/06 RSVR Factory. I.e. the one prior to the gold frame and, in many eyes, a lot nicer than the current model.
I'll update the starting post as well.

The magazines seem to think the 06 (same as an 05/06??) is a kick arse bike, measurably better than the earlier model) and this one is still in its warranty which is a bonus. I'm glad I don't have to choose between this with the bling and a brand new one!!

For those interested, I heard this bike before the Arrows pipes were put on, and then afterwards, and the arrow pipes on this bike make it sound so god damn horny. You'll bar up, & or wet yourself everytime you hit the go botton...
Has to be heard to be appreciated.

Yup - the red 05 model is prettier with the big lions head, but if common sense applies, I'd buy the brand new black one.

Ginny?????
Don't pretend you ride a GN250.
Thats your misse's bike, not yours!
I dunno, trying to make out that the GN's all your bling............
and stop going on about Italians and their cracks. You seem incredibly obsessed! Just coz you choose to frequently experience Japs!
Oh, and for the record. I'd take the Gold/Black anyday. It also took out bike of the year in the Bike mag. It's also available for 27,995 brand new from TSS motorcycles. Thats 0 Km's and a full factory warranty remaining.

Not a bad deal, shame they ditched the '05 colour scheme and went with very sucky gold frame, done the same on the Tuono. I'd by the '06 base over the factory just because of the colour.

Ditto, that's why I'm currently looking at the 06 RSV for the wife.
Yeah, all the extras on the Factory are nice, but I'm not going to spend $4,000 more on a bike that's bland  and then have to spend more money on paint/decals etc to make it look decent. If it doesn't look the part, the wife won't wanna ride it :done:

I have to admit there's some sence of knowing that the Japer's aren't going to take advantage of a situation as soon as your backs turned. In my opinion 'never trust an Italian - especially with your misses, and mistress!'
As for the Ginny - what more do you need to show what sort of man you really are!?!?!?!?!
