bit of a problem really, since most planes don't have internet connections, so that could be a bit of a problem

opps.... my bad bout the repost...

Im sure you can go on the net?!... you can send txt/sms messages from your seat phone... and make calls... and use the net... (when I last flew international on saturday just been... it had all those things available...as well as laptop chargers in the seat....incase you needed to charge battery) *shrug*
EDIT:
On our Airbus A340-500 aircraft you can connect to your own internet email accounts whilst in the air using your laptop.
Connection is simple via WiFi, and can be used to access Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL and other email services. All aircraft are equipped with seatback sms and email. Not only can you send messages to any email address or mobile number, but also receive replies direct to your seatback screen. This service costs only $1 per message to send or receive and so is a great way to keep in touch with those who you have left behind or are on the way to see

You don't need the internet to open an swf file. They can be saved, and opened when you feel like it.

And having said that, the plane I was on going from Christchurch to Dubai had internet access available - you just had to pay, and you'd get the use of it. Type of plane was mentioned by LilSel (A340 - 500), used by Emerates. Nice and modern and new and all that, but stupidly cramped and hideously uncomfortable as soon as the person in front puts their seat back. I hated having to spend 18 hours on one.
