Indiana_Jones - they are great bikes, handling is awsome, braking is great, the problem is the power is down compared to all the other 600.
I am not to sure about Triumph parts, but i am guessing they be more expesnive than jap parts.
On the good side, not many people have them, just look at the corona extra 600 tons of them around, dayonta 600.
I am sure they won the isle of man 600 race this year, or something like that, awsome bike, the styleing is great, its down a little on power, but if you are coming from an fxr150 thats nothing, i was looking at one myself, but they were to down on power comapred to rest, since i was coming off a gsxr1100 that hat 130+hp at rw, i didn't want to go under the 100hp which the dayonta has

fucking sexy machine, yes down on power, but from an FXR, it would be a HUGE jump.....

Here you go - try this review from Motorcycling News in the UK
http://www.motorcyclenews.com/nav?page=motorcyclenews.bikes.model&resourceId=1115857
They gave it 93%.
They put it above all the other 600s except the CBR600RR.

Yes - but if you read the review - it was reviewed AFTER the GSXR6 and they comment that the Daytona - and this is their words 'would also have kicked the R6 and GSX-R for being far easier to live with in real world riding'.
Makes you wonder how 'biased' they are being a british mag reviewing a british bike.
Personally I didn't like it when I rode it

hmmm i find the gsxr600 fine in every day riding. not to small feeling and i am 6'2
but the british mags have always been good to there bikes i mean they always put good reviews in for the tt600 even tho it was crapola

Actually they only gave the TT 83% - so reviewed it pretty hard.
As I said in the other thread - it all comes down to personal preference. I rode them all before deciding on the CBR. Loved them all in different ways. Didn't like the Daytona's colour schemes (lame I know) and found it a bit tame, found the GSXR6 boring to look at but loved the ride, loved the R6 but didn't like the fact that I could actually physically SEE the front wheel - , liked the ZXR6RR but too pricey (mind you by the time I bolt shit on to the CBR, it will probably cost just as much as a standard ZXR6RR - bugger it).
It does appear the Tri-UmpfH have made big steps with the Daytona as a proper super sport tho - which is good to see.

New question, what's a bonneville like for top speed and more importantly, acceleration?
That bike has great escape/McQueen written all over it :devil2:

top speed will be crap, as its unfaired therefore buffeting is a bitch... think sub 200k's

Been loads of debate on this bike on other sites that I use, most who have also tried or owned a W650 seem to find the Kwak a better bike.Surely top speed`s not important on a bike like this?If so then what you really want is the Bonneville Thruxton,cool-looking cafe-racer version with more poke.
As for the comment in another thread about Brit bike mags praising Brit bikes, well not really,MCN are notorious for not saying a whole lot negative about any bike, most of the Brit press really trashed the TT when it came out. That`s definately a bike to avoid. If I remember correctly the Daytona came something like 5th in last years Ride survey, and that`s solely compiled from owners opinions and not those of journalists.Daytona does get good press because it`s a bloody good bike, not because it`s a Triumph.Brit bike press is pretty good, particularly Ride and Bike and if something`s wrong they`ll say so,the Triumph Tiger is a good example of a machine they`ve often criticised and has been modded and changed as a rsult of press criticism.MCN relies heavily on advertising, the "paper version" we get is something like 80% ads, that`s the main reason people buy it,great place to find special deals on kit or bikes.

Going by the beemer 650, not too bad for acceleration, still quite a bit slower than a ZXR400 tho. The beemer has a top speed of 168 (178?) factory figures, so the bonneville ought to be similar. I have had the beemer to 140 a few times and 150 once, and its not too bad in short bursts, wouldnt like to ride it all day at that speed, but 120 all day aint bad.

I just finished reading the TWo Wheels 600 compario.
The guys at TW can be pretty scathing if a bike is shite.
They were comparing the gsxr, zxr, trumby, yzf and cbr 6
It seems to me that the trumbie is only second to the cbr for real world ride comfort --and possibly better in some places.
It gives away a couple of seconds a lap on the track compared to the fastest.
The way I read the article was is a bloody good bike. Unless you're some kind of superman You wouldn't notice the performance difference for a very long time.
I suspect too that the handling could be tuned up with attention to suspension.
