Just been checking out Spank's SV site (re this thread (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=42411)) and noticed there's an awards system up and running...it looks quite cool and could potentially replace or compliment the Flame Warrior system.

Spank, is this possible...and what does everyone think?

I think it's a fair enough idea - it would give a fair indication of what people have done in terms of contirbuting to the site and the community.

Lets face it, I'm living proof that any moron can accumulate green rep with a couple of thousand posts....:rofl:

Some people get offended by the Flame Warrior thingumy.

I nominate people for a laff and I've been nominated and voted for - it's an online forum and as such the Flame Warrior nominations have little meaning in the real world. (at least little meaning to me)

The proposed awards seem to be there for specific achievements and constructive contributions which makes more sense - the bling we have at the moment is just for wit and humour really.

yes democracy is marvellous, i have never voted at elections, as i dont care, but i dont turn up at ballot boxes and search for the i dont care option. i wouldnt think they would have a I DONT CARE OPTION to tick, it doesnt make sense, if you dont care, you wouldnt go to vote,

if you dont care why not show your apathy by not voting at all?

Like the Flame Warrior stuff, I think an awards thing would be a good laugh :D. Could have them read out at a bar one night :)
