Well all it seems that I wrote my bike off yesterday going over Paekak Rd. Back end stepped out and my plus bike rode into the scenery. Thanks to Deano Hayden and Cycosis for picking me and my bike off the Rd. Thanks Also to Jo' who dropped me off at home.

The damage could be thus:

Bent forks
Bent Frame
Bent subframe
Broken clipons
Every piece of plastic is rooted
Both Rimms rooted
Radiator wrecked
The seat hump is OK though.

This is an initial diagnoses so it might not be that bad, but Hayden didn't seem too hopeful

I am OK. Very sore chest and hands but no real damage. Wear good leathers dudes as they are worth every cent.

If anyone wins the lotto could you please buy me another bike. Ta

Bugger. can't say much more than that really. Glad you're still in one piece.

Sounds like a good excuse to turn it into a track day bike tho. Got to look on the bright side. If you need a hand with anything, or need the trailer, then send me a message.

Bugger indeed!
Main thing is you're OK?
Insurance??????

jimbo600
1st August 2004, 08:45
Can I borrow your bike?................just kidding mate. I think the gixxer is too fucked for a track bike. Cost too much to get it sorted. Cheaper to buy a running track bike. Plus the insurance will cover it.

1st August 2004, 09:51
Urgh.

Not good news.

Glad you're not busted up Jimbo.

At least you did the job properly on the bike. I guess there's nothing worse than busting yourself up, and the bike's sitting in the shop with nothing on it but a few scratches.

Walking away from a completely destroyed bike does tend to give you a bit more of that road mana :msn-wink:

Well done for not killing yourself. I guess you'll be pretty sore today and tomorrow. The paekak hill road surface must have been pretty ordinary yesterday. It was a touch cold.

On the plus side, maybe that 750 motor could find its way into a gixxer 600. Do you think anyone would notice?

Oh crap. Firstly, I am glad that you were able to walk away from the bin cause from the discription of the damage, it sounds fucking bad!!

Secondly, this is a reminder to all of us that it can happen to anyone of us and not just newbies...

Goodluck with getting things sorted mate.

Damn Jimbo, that was a nice bike (followed you down the hill one night)...

Glad you're OK, most people who come off there end up smeared on a car or falling down a cliff, had a few close calls on it myself... heh heh...

Let me know when you get a new bike coz you'll be riding like a wobbly chicken and I might be able to keep up this time...

Yea yea, double hard my arse! You'll be sitting on the couch lickin' your wounds, Mrs Jimbo will be in ya ear about you and speed and feckin' motorbikes and you've wrecked the leathers I bought you for Xmas and all that shite... :blah:  :blah: :killingme :killingme

Hey, pleased to hear you've come through it relatively unscathed fella. Bikes can be replaced, mates can't. Look forward to us both getting new bikes and getting out on the roads with the rest of the clan again... but hey, you'll still have to wait 5 minutes at each turn off for me to come trundling along on the 'Storm.

Got home today to see a bike in the back of Yo's van and at first nothing seemed strange about that............... UNTIL I noticed the numbers 750 on the back :disapint: Really glad to hear your ok Jim as your bike tells a totally different tale!!!!!!!!!!
Insurance however is a wonderful thing and there are worse things then righting your bike off.
Take care and heal fast mate, catch you soon.

What a shocker Jimbo. There we were chatting a couple of hours before you crashed about the risks of riding the Piecock hill road and looking forward to dicing again on the track the next day. As soon as Deano and WT arrived at Manfield today I wondered where the hell you were at. Sounds like you've got the right sort of attitude to pick yourself up and get back in the saddle- and shit what a ripper saddle it will be if you get a K4 750.
Until then ask WT if you can borrow that trick race bike he turned up on today.

When the flag drops the bullshit stops !!

Afraid the 'Big Burly V-twin' is no quicker than late model 600's, however it is less nimble and heavier when braking, so who has the advantage again Wkid ????

Cool, at this stage I'm just waiting to hear from the assessor. If the bike is totalled then I have to pay out the loan first then see what's left. Whatever happens it'll be Welly Motorcycles that get the business.

Now just so I get the facts straight - did the big fucken rock smash in to the rear tyre (suggesting the rock was moving) - or did the rear tyre in fact smash in to the big fucken rock (suggesting the rider didn't see said big fucken rock)

Maybe that's how I can shave a few more seconds off my Puke' times...How many tenths can you save with the mighty Kiwi Biker sticker???

No, no, you got it all wrong. You need to start your progression towards being a Fast Rider by getting your bike a race-rep paint job. *Then* you can start fine-tuning with sponsor stickers.

Piss off - first you need to go out and buy the flashest more hidiously coloured set of leathers with a hump to match your bike colours, along with boots, gloves and sliders to match. THEN - you need to go and buy a GP/SBK Replica Helmet worth no less than $1000 - then and only then are you quick enough to warrant upgrading your bike to a race-rep paint job! :bye: :bye:

(I absolve myself from all flaming from people on this site who have done this and make no apologies for taking the piss 101%)

Fuck me - that black GSXR is the first GSXR I like - mate, I hate admitting it - but that is one sweet bike. It nearly matches the black R1 I photoshopped.

I actually think I would buy that bike - one of the best colour schemes of ANY of the thous out at the moment IMO

Well, as we all know, KBers are irresponsible young hoon bikers, so I'd guess a full second off each lap, but it'd make you crash once every 80 laps, so overall no saving whatsoever after you miss the next two weeks while repairing the bike eh TS... :P
