After much humming and harring... Bills from broken windscreens and busted radiators... Right through to a balding cat and huge vet bills.... I've finally done it and right now I couldn't be happier....
I purchased a 1998 RG150 today and so far I couldn't be happier... Sadly I didn't manage to have a go on my bike when I got home.... I had to rush off to work.. BUT!!!! My alarm clocks set for early in the morning.. I'm so looking forward to getting out there and having a little play....
Thankyou to 90s and partner for helping make the sale much easier... Was really nice of you to ride out and meet up with Dan and myself.. I promise I'll take care of the RG!!!!
A big thankyou also goes out to Sudeep... You're just awesome.... Even after you hurt yourself you still went out of your way to take a look at the RG for me... Thankyou for that.. Its been appreciated....
All the help I've recieved has just made things so much easy.. I must thank CBobR for offering to ride the bike back for me if need be... And I think Dans step-dad will be rather happy with his bottle of plonk as a thankyou for loaning us his van...
Thankyou also to Jeaves who offered to take a look at the bike if Sudeep wasn't able to make it...
Now I suppose that all I gotta do is fight with my partner to see who gets to ride it..... Apparently he wants one too.... ;)

Well done, there'll be smiles for miles! Now all you've got to do is make the RG match the bike description in your profile....or is the description already accurate?

My first bike was a sweet little RG150 - I loved it and rode it for about three or four years before upgrading. It was great for a shorty like me and I liked the fact it looked like a real bike - people would often think it was a 250 or a 400. It never gave me any trouble while I had it so if you look after it, you'll have years of fun with it.

Well I've just been on the driveway practising how to take off... Braking.. Changing from 1st to 2nd... Whoop-ee!!! I hear you say... Got it up into 3rd just cruising round slowly getting a feel of the bike...
Had a little oops moment when I panicked while changing down cuz the bike started going faster (hand on clutch) silly goose moment.. Just about hit the fence... Braked and ended up sliding.. Kind of came to stop but ended up dropping the bike... I'll learn... Hurt my arm and grazed part of my back... Lay on the ground and had a giggle... My partner freaked and ran over to check if I was ok and pick my bike back up for me... I will start practicing how to pick it up whenever I drop it.. Just for whoops moments which I'm sure I'll have...
I changed my direction round the driveway.. Its a loop... Practiced hill start and manuvering my bike and trying to get it where I wanted it... Practiced indicating etc etc....
Was having fun... Went to pull up beside my partner.. Little slope in the driveway... WHOOPS!!! yet again.... :( Broke the little end piece off my brake lever... Was so embarassed.... 2 drops in what..? An hour and a half...!!! I did end up getting back on... But now I have a sore arm and gravel rash on my lower back... :innocent:
My partners had a couple of goes and absolutely loves it... I'm pretty sure he'll be getting on within the next 6 months or so... I can't wait cause if he does its gonna be absolutely fantastic....
Anyway lunchtime now... Then work... I think we'll be borrowing a trailor tonight so we can take my down to the school and start practicing in the carpark.. At least then there will be a bit more space... I can't wait... I still can't get the cheesy grin off my face...
I'm just loving it!!!!

I'll have to send you photos of when I'm about to sell it. It's going to look wicked
Kitty, what colour is it? Purple/Black, Red/White or that other rare greyish one? Have fun on it, RG's are great learner bikes. And I'm not really a learner anymore and I'm still having fun on it. And if you crash it too hard and want to sell it, let me know :p

That's fantabulous Kittehkins, glad you got there and are enjoying your new toy. :)
Practise and get your confidence up! When you hit those roads for the first time... gosh, I can only imagine how far down the dimples will go. Hows about bringing it to Auckland for a jaunt around some nice country backroads? My new toy could use a playdate.

That's so cool to know where my baby is now! It was my first bike and I had it from new so it was always a bit special. It had done over 23,000kms when I sold it but it looked in mint condition.
And Kittie, don't worry, I dropped mine a couple of times when learning to ride - always at virtually walking pace! The first time it landed on me so there was no damage, the second time I bent the clutch lever and was told it would crack and break so I bought a new one but never got around to fitting it and it never broke! I dropped it at the traffic lights about a week after getting it - I was so busy trying to get it into neutral (it was a BITCH to get into neutral!) I forgot to put either foot down - whoops!
Enjoy it, I am sure you will have a smile from ear to ear once you get out and about!

Pretty sure it was your old one. It's been lowered to the ground. You hit the pegs pretty early
I've dropped it a few times now. First time I hit some corrugations on a corner doing 120. Second time a car ran me off the road, but I only landed in a grassy ditch forunatly. The last time a week and a half ago the cheap tyres (but the most expensive I could afford) slipped in the wet and sent me flying on my arse into a parked bus.
So yeah, it's not in the greatest condition asthetically anymore. But it's mechanically great since I did the piston 5000k's ago and the powervalves are ok, except for the battery not working and not getting enough power from the alternator to get them moving. But I'm in the process of doing up another crashed RG I got off a mate, and I'll learn from that and do up Purple Fury too :D

Man, sounds like my baby has had a hard life! If it is mine, the end part of the rego worked out to be Talented Young Lady - but you may have to change that to Total Yobbo Lad!

No sorry, Kittie's bike is not your bike. Also bike not lowered but in that pic ratcheted down for transport to the bottom of the suspension travel.
Glad you are having fun on the bike Kittie - ride safe and take it easy. There's a lot more going on on the open rd so build up your confidence slowly.
You'll both have a lot of fun!
Also as a complete wuss I do tend to be an ATGATT rider - all the gear all the time!
