Saturday 13 January - Riding back from CDMTC trackday Ninjaboy notices the top of his radar detector cover is missing - Blown off and lost somewhere between Waiouru and Taupo. :angry2: What could be worse....
Saturday 20 January - Riding back from Kiwitrackday Manfeild I see my radar detector cover blow off. I stop, do a U turn, find it on the road, park the bike only to watch.... while the next car runs over it and destroys it! :brick:
Today I send an email to Graeme at Radar Direct as I would like a replacement before Tuesday when I'm away on the bike again. This evening (Sunday) I've been to his premises - works from home. He GAVE me 2 free top covers for my Valentine 1 and 1 free cover for Ninjaboy (who didn't buy his cover from him). I was expecting to pay $40.00 each for the 2 new covers.
Just like to say thank you to Graeme :niceone: - Radar Direct Auckland - for the excellent after sales service (and advice on making them more secure)

Yep, I'd give Graeme a thumb up for service, but he gets a different digit raised for his pricing (although I guess he is constrained somewhat by the size of the market and the need to make a living)

Graeme is very helpful. He used his personal Stalker laser to test a jammer Pixie was developing. It's just a shame he's undercut by other outlets.

Yep, Graeme offers a top notch after market service and is most helpful.
As Lou said, it's a shame he is undercut, but you can't go past his service and original unit setups.

Done this on mine to stop exactly that happening..........
Get a piece of suitably long elastic band and get someone who can drive a sewing machine to loop it into a band. Put it around the plastic cover and the plastic base/stand plate. Gives you added protection over the velcro and the top wont ever fly off.
See pic. This was before I got the plastic cover, but using the same elastic band.....you get the idea.

Yes. Very tidy looking one, designed by him, made here and exported!

Like Lou and Paul said a shame. Unfortunate but a fact of life that some will undercut prices, sell with minimal margin and then go out of business soon enough that you get no after sales service. Same with buying from overseas. I'm happy to pay a little(?) more to support good people!!

Thanks, may have a go at velcro on the top fo the detector providing it doesn't get in the way when used in the car....

What happened to Rubberband V1.0? A pre-beta solution?
