A 1988 Suzuki RG50.:headbang: What an awesome little bike! Havn't ridden it yet (no kickstart to begin with) and it's in not so good shape. Generally it's rusted, and there's a few things broken/missing. Currently it's in the process of being fixed, but I wouldn't imagine the fixing taking more than a week. Best part about it is it was free. :niceone:

Should be a hoot to ride.

1988? got pics? I tried to look at this site http://www.suzukicycles.org/adressfields/adressfield-RG-series.shtml
but it says the RG50 was only made 1977 to 1982
I have no idea about old 2-strokes so I'm not saying you are wrong, I just wanted to see what it looked like.....

The rg50 is a lil water cooled single with mono shock hydraulic disk front end. It looks like a rg250 with a handlebar fairing
Bloody great little bike -fantastic for bucket racing as stock -just throw on some sticky rubber and go have fun

As a matter of fact I do have pics. Squint and you can just make out the engine.

It's not a pretty sight at the moment, but there's mostly unseizing various stuff and finding parts for it to do. Oh, and bending the front wheel in the right direction. No progress today though. I think the next step is soldering the supposed holes in the tank (not shown in the pics, being drained a few metres away).

At least it says on the rego it's 1988. Reminds me of a bike rego I saw once that read "7509 Suzuki GSXR 750"

The previous owner said it was easier to push start. Fair enough, don't need to find a kickstart then.

HAHA previous owner being me! Yeah they are easier to push, dont worry about the broken choke as you dont need that either.
Sorry about the rust, a mate who had it lived right near the sea and didnt take care of it but another mate did give it a pretty cool paintjob. You havent seen my 92 rg50, its cooler still.(racing coil, aftermarket exhaust etc)
I hope it ends up powered by a 125, I so wanted to do that myself one day! Fastest I ever got that bike on the motorway flat was 105kmph. Best thing is that its only 70 a year to register and no wof. (honest officer!)
Hey it would go real fast with your TV's motor in it. :Punk:

I had a feeling you'd be on the forums. No worries about the bike's condition. The cleaning up is coming along at a steady pace. The carburettor has been cleaned and my Dad will probably put an LC choke on it. And we have plans to stick a gp125 motor in.

Yep, heaps of bikes. In the background there's an R5, two RZs, an LC350 (with an RZ front fairing on it) and a few others underneath the sheets. That Kawasaki is a Z750. My Dad seems to prefer the rustbucket T250 to it....
