Found this photo, do you think the head stock should have broken away in crash like this, the forks look undamaged, bad welding.

Look at the front wheel rim though, it must've taken a decent wack to "dent" it like that.

Crash like what???
You/we can't see the crash (only the result) so you/we have got no idea what caused this to happen.
The forks are a huge lever so if any bike was hit from the side in the fork area, or tumbles at high speed it could quite easily rip the front end off any bike.

Cor blimey, I'm not sure the engineers designing that frame were envisioning the bike being used quite like that.

Yeah... I'm not sure I'd be thinking 'frame' fault... more like 'rider' fault :rofl:

Before I got it, my RC30 was in a crash with a truck and had the steering head ripped off the frame.
I have seen photos of it before it was put back together again.
The front wheel had a huge buckle in it, one fork leg casting had cracked but they were still straight, the forward tank mounts got torn off and went with the headstock.
Surprisingly the fairings had only minor damage.
It now has a new frame and front end, the tank was welded back together and the fairings patched up.
Its amazing what breaks and what doesn't when you drop a bike.

Agreed, I don't think this is a case of dodgy frame - more of obscenely strong forks. It's toast either which way. And where is the rider?

But yes, it's the bike equivalent of a crumple zone.
