It was (I think) just about 10 mins away from Maraetai, over a rise is a couple of big-arse squares that are just gravel. No signs or anything so be wary if you're going out that way, Gwinch and I had to do some semi-serious braking.. you really can't see any of it untill you get over the rise and the first square is right in your face.
So be careful!

It's literally just over the rise which has the turnoff to Beachlands on it. Not a cool place as once you're past the intersection you think "cool, nice straight downhill" and give it some more gas. Resist temptation!

I avoid that road and the one from Maraetai to Clevedon.
Too much going on to enjoy it.
Leave it to the locals, experts and idiots.

You're too modest...
You're obviously an expert on the road you like!

Pete and i went out there yesterday in the cage and both of us commented on that. I think you should be able to sue the council if anything happens through there incompance. If we had been on the bike you can bet we would have had a opps moment as pete likes that road.

Suing the council after you're dead is no good. Give them a ring NOW and tell them about it. They should have some one out there pretty quickly after you ring and tell them. I know the Wellington council is pretty good when it comes to these sort of things, for fear of liability.

Which council is it? I'll ring the fuckers.
Jesus. Fulton's can put up fake cop car signs to ptrotect their roadside worker (and fair enough) and then walk away leaving a death rap behind them?? (Not blaming fulton's in this case... just highlighting the point)

I'll probably be going out those ways again in a few so I'll let you know of the state it's in after I get back (if I get back!)

Well it's all still there, but they have at least got some warning signs up now.
