Hi guy, im wondering how much i should offer for a 1987 GSX400e which has been fully restored ( carbys rebuilt etc ) and has had a new flash paint job done? No rust etc. What would be a good price? Or do you know anyone who has just purchased a bike simular to this and how much did they pay?

Cheers.

It's done just under 60,000km. Do you think it's getting to the end of its' days or what? I have been told those engines are pretty bullet proof.

I'd say $1000-$1500 if it's in top condition. The engines are good and it should see another 60,000 odd kms if looked after. Personnally I'd be temped to keep if it's as good as you say it is. And ride it into the ground.

It's not mine. Its for sale and I'm interested in it. The bike had a major service half way through last year. This included the carburator being cleaned and completly overauled, new brake pads and shoes and brake oil, fork oil and seals replaced, new chain, new battery, seat recovered, new air fiter, and a new paint job with skulls airbrushed on tank. So im guessing its pretty good. But, even if it is i dont want to be ripped? So you guys think around $1500?

You like the skulls on the tank? I'd be expressing horror, and talking about the cost to paint them out again, and deducting that from the price. Whether you actually do that when you get it, of course, is a different issue :)
