Well myself, Dodger, BuckbuckNo1 and Steve??? went for ride this morning. Departed Caltex Stokes Valley at 1030hrs and headed to Blue Mountains road. We proceeded up over Blue Mountains road and into Whitemans Valley, from here we carried on through to Mangaroa then Maymorn, Plateau and out onto SH2 and bak to Mangaroa Hill road then shot over back into Mangaroa and then headed over Wallaceville Hill down into Upper Hutt and around Alexander Road to the GMs carpark.
Was a good figure 8 trip and took approx 40mins from start to finish.
Road was good, weather was nice(just overcast so not too hot) and the riding was smooth. When we arrived at the GMs carpark it was time to practice some emergency braking. I was braking from 50km/h to stop and managed to keep the tail down to maybe 10cm off the deck under heavy braking. Dodger was hampered by his dodgy rear suspension with no damper and he was using alot of rear under braking resulting in alot of burnt rubber. BuckbuckNo1 was doing his usual GN braking then off again as quick as possible(very good practice to avoid the guy behind you rear ending you after you successfully brake to stop). Steve was practising emergency sleeping on the sidelines and was feeling a little ill. After a few runs a the braking we swapped bikes and tried out each others just for a run around, not braking!.
The Hyosung GT250 felt very responsive but was still a strange feeling having hte bars quite high in comparison to my clip-ons on the GT250R. The GN made me feel like i was on easy rider, had to sit right back to be comfy on the bars and still felt like ape hangers in comparison to my GT250R. Really enjoyed the GN and can see why its a preferable option to learn on as it handles with ease and has smooth power delivery.
We finished up around lunchtime and departed ways. Then realised that i had left my Digi cam on the ground in the carpark so i headed back to pick it up(thats why i saw you again BuckBuck).
Cheers for the Ride guys and look forward to heading out again very soon.
