Passed my restricted test this afternoon...........but get this I'm still on a learners until I give them proof of address!

Was so caught up in practicing today I forgot to grab a piece of mail to prove my address even though I had only just done this 6 months ago to get my learners.

Ah well come Tuesday I'll be officially restricted :)

Congratulations...... on passing your restricted.... well done.

But does that mean you still have to leave the little YELLOW flap hanging off the back til Tuesday....... since you forgot to show them proof of your home address?

If stopped can the police give you a ticket until you have proof of your new restricted?
Like that temp paper license you should be holding until the plastic one arrives in the mail.

Cos I am assuming that they haven't given you a temp paper license at this stage.

Yeah they gave me no temp license, guy wasn't even meant to give me my results until I povided address details (seems rather dumb) but thats the rules. So until they see proof they won't put it in the computer so if my license was quiried then it would still come back as a learner.

Besides I only made my L plate last night and as soon as I got home it was removed again anyway.............just adds way too much yellow to my mango :)

I'm just happy that I now have a legitimate reason for not having an L plate :)

Did you manage to sit it the same day you booked? I showed them my bank statement when I booked, and there was no issue when it came to the test. Just as well; my test was about an hour and a half from home ...

I did forget the mail the first time, but just went home and got it, before attempting to hand anything over.

Thing was I discovered this at 3pm, my mates test (using my bike) was at 3.30, then my test at 4pm. If I didn't get back by 3.30 mate would score a fail as I doubt they would let him do his test on his 750 GSXR :)

Testing guy was a real dude and it was his decision, said would still do the test but would not give me results till paperwork was done. Once I did my test me and mate talked to the guy for 30 minutes having a laugh. Nice to see some testing guys have a nice side to them.

On ya, looks like the electric mango is ready to rock and roll without a flappy bit of flippery filling up the forlorn rear fairing! Right on! :woohoo:

Seems like everyone is upgrading and sitting their restricted and other whatnots all at once  :scooter:

You can have the one I made up. $2 shop had run out of the hard plastic ones, so got the static ones and stuck them to an ice cream lid. Worked a treat.

If you want it PM me let me know where you are and I'll drop it off

A word of advice - don't sit on the examiner's tail and then overtake him on a corner - in other words radically re-think your riding style before the test!
