Gidday,
Theres no "official" importer in N.Z any more...
Matt Mladin in Australia is now the Australasian Distributor...
A.F.C Motorcycles - 06 357 8043 in Palmerston North will supply direct from the U.S.A &/or Australia, there pricing is pretty competitive too
Cheers :Punk:

If you want to buy Yoshimura or the likes, get on the web & go to
www.indysuperbikes.com,figure out what you want, phone them,as NZ is not listed as a shipping destination ,give them a credit card number & will arrive inside a week & is cheap

I tend to recall that Jaison at www.motostyle.co.nz could get them in from the Mat Mladin crowd in Oz. Cheaper than I thought too. Not wildly more than eBay.

I imported a Yoshi can from WWW.A-ZPOWERSELLERS.COM (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/WWW.A-ZPOWERSELLERS.COM)
Sharp pricing, delivered quick (about a week from memory) and well packaged.

Not full systems but if you go for slip on's I can highly recommend Roo Racing in Perth Western Australia (http://www.rooracing.com/mainmenu5.html).
It's a small high quality operation and Alex is a good bloke to deal with. The name might not have the ring of a Mexican made Yoshimura but the product is noticeably superior. If you want a slightly different bracket or got a weird entry size (my R1 has an Akrapovic system, 52mm link pipe instead of common 50mm) then it's not a problem.
Imagine two of these puppies lookin' back at ya.....

Try www.bikegearwarehouse.com.au (it's Mat Mladin's new website) prices seem very reasonable, and theres free freight to NZ for orders over $200 apparently. Good luck.

There's a lot of other bleating in that thread that appears to be short on facts and long on opinion, you should read the thread in it's entirety.
It is however worth noting that Yoshi USA have a lot of happy customers in this country.

In comparison, I thought that the BGW guys carried themselves with relatively large amounts of professionalism.

The only one I've seen that has literally fallen to bits is the one on Andy's ZXR750 (third hand when he recieved it)... and you could've had a boiler maker make him one and he'd still kill it, he's pretty hard on gear  I assume you do not and will not supply Yoshi USA gear to customers?

Exactamundo.
Something Robert Taylor use to do; he was attacked and made a very professional stance; unfortunately time on KB has tainted his good self. i wonder how long it will be before this crowd crack too.
I Understand why the 'no comment' is provoked by many businesses.. saves getting into slagging matches with idiots like me :d

I'm so glad that the factory that built my bike put a muffler on it for free - negates the need for one of these expensive aftermarket jobbies.

You didn't pay for the bike then? Otherwise, it wasn't free... In which case, you paid for a big heavy ugly muffler ;)

Good call, the Zero-Fifty is an amazing piece of work. Only five were hand-built and the owners had to apply to purchase it. It had to be approved by Yoshimura and the owners had to agree on a lot of special conditions.
It was built to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Yoshimura, but was actually named after the "Zero-Fifty" aircraft, which is what Pops Yoshimura learnt his engine mechanics and tuning skill on.
I think the main thing is that no matter who makes Yoshimura, you the consumer is going to get a top quality product for your bike.

A little off-topic, but it is to do with Yoshimura :innocent:
Congratulations to the Yoshimura Suzuki Team for taking the honours for the 2009 Suzuka 8 Hour Race.
This is a very prestigious event and is an event that Yoshimura has had much success in. The Yoshimura team of Daisuke Sakai, Suzuki regular Nobuatsu Aoki and Kasuke Tokudome finished a lap in front by race end.
Well done :first:

I admit, I was cheating :D :D
It's a lovely bike, they both are, I wouldn't turn my nose up at either.
The product is fine, I've seen more Yoshi' USA mufflers bent in crashes than simply worn out... we the consumer want top quality after sales service when we need repacking kits, spare parts, db killers for that 5 year old muffler (say the law changed), and free freight both ways if and when we get the wrong one sent.

You should only be paying Duty on that if you imported it using a compnay. Personal imports of motorcycle gear for personal use are exempt duty. You pay GST on anything over $NZ400 value.

Hi imdying, yes they are both beauties indeed :).
As the exclusive importer we do stock a lot of Yoshi spare parts. We are hoping that most of them will be up on the website in the next 10 days. There certainly have been many requests for it :).
If we send the wrong item we will pay shipping back to Australia again, and the cost of re-sending. This goes without saying and is simply part of our normal customer service.

With only 5 Zero-Fifty's built, I'd be too scared to drop it. Imagine the repair bill.
