.....on SH2 this evening? Was a ginny rider and all we could see was someone lying down inside the left-side barrier just before the old Hutt Road joins SH2 (bike was stood up behind a red 4wd and didn't look like an accident).

The 4wd driver was sitting next to the person lying down. Their jacket and helmet seemed to be off but other than that, no idea what was going on.

I wanted to stop but we were in the outside lane in very heavy, but flowing, traffic. We just couldn't get across.

I hope whoever it was is OK.

That was me.

Bike was a loaner for the day that ran out of petrol, was already using reserve when I got it :nono:

The ute had overheated and died a bit before I arrived.

I was sitting patiently on the side of the road waiting for petrol to arrive.

Aha - the penny has dropped - you must be Nige and all this happened when Polar Cock had his altercation with the late indicator.

So you were on a Ginny AND you ran out of gas!

Bet you're wishing JCM hadn't brought that up.

I really liked the way your bike was going the other weekend so thought I would try one out :scooter:

I didn't realise all the burning off of boy racers at traffic lights and wheelies I was doing would use up so much gas.

Back in the real world, I took Mrs KD's bike in for service and warrant and was on a loan bike to get to work and back.

I saw you too, Nige! Almost stopped to see if you were OK or wanted a phone, but was stuck in the middle and didn't see you until a bit too late.

Glad to hear it weren't anything serious. Pretty L-plate you had, by the way!

Well done Kendog, good effort mate :second:

Glad everything worked out alright, and that you didn't divert too many resources that would otherwise have been used to help Colapop out...

Ya silly bugger!

Ah, the guys down at TSS are awesome and couldn't do enough to fix him up, once they found him (this is when Stew comes on and calls me dopey for not knowing my North from South! :innocent: ). We've decided to blame someone else for the lack of petrol, although the shame of running a GN out of petrol is all Nigel's.

Glad it wasn't anything nasty.
Wanted to stop but it was to late by the time I saw you. (I was following another bike at the time, and we were both doing over the shoulder looks to see if you were ok)

Saw a lot of bikers looking to see if I was ok, cheers.
Was not the best spot for stopping especially that time of day with traffic.

I was not standing next to the bike for some strange reason :o

And yep, TSS sorted it all out in the end.

Could've been worse....one of our sales guys sent someone out on a test ride years ago, and it ran out of fuel in the Mt Vic tunnel......that could've been REAL nasty!:nono:
