1984 rego on hold, no wof, no bad noises when run (given it was only run for about 30 seconds) i think it was something like vt-t or similar. do you guys know how much it would be worth? also it is for sale by the ministry for justice.
Thanks for your help.

Oooh, VT500 Ascot? V-twin version of the (brilliant but ugly) FT500 thumper. Don't really know anything about it, but the FT500 remains a bit of a cult bike.

Yes.

At the right price.
If it's done up well, you'd possibly get $1500 bux for it (this is just a figure I plucked outta my arse, but it's not unlikely).

I would think $550 fairly steep for that unless it was a very tidy one . Interesting that you said "rego on hold" - I had the idea that MOJ sales were always de-registered (means getting a VIN & new rego to get back on the road)

well usaly they are being sold to pay fines so they would want as much as possible. it was tempting to buy it tho, still a cheep 500 cc V twin. and yes it was ralitively tidy.

What?

A former boss of mine spent alot of time at Turners buying vehicles for other people. The way he tells me, if MOJ are selling it, it is because the vehicle has been forfeited to the crown (this is over and above fines), and the edict is "sell at whatever is bid". How about a HiAce van for $20? - tidied up, rego'd etc for under $500.
