View Full Version : DMNTD down (3 February)

Colapop
3rd February 2007, 10:17
As the title suggests, DMNTD went down in a slowish speed bin (65kmh) @ 7:30am this morning - about 3 corners from home! He's not too clear on the details but he knows he locked the back - "I just got new brakes put in and that must have been it" *Tui*"
He was in Tauanga hospital when I spoke to him (Unit is with him) - AC jont dislocation, bung knee, & a hole in his leg. No Broken bones - coz he's got milk (apparently). He says he'll be out before anyone can get there so if you see him on the Thursday night ride - he'll be riding the street magic. He also reckons he doesn't want a fuss made (but we all know he loves the attention)

In his words "It's just a bike - I'm alright. And more scars will make the boys love me more!"

ZX10 stunt bike is all go! From his position under the barrier he said he couldn't see any fluids leaking but that's all he could see... The barrier didn't fare so well it's been DMNTD DENTED. Competitive bastard - just had to better my accident!

:gob: Crikey! What is up with you chaps at the moment? Always trying to go one up on each other  Glad to hear DMNTD is "relatively" okay ... I bet the first thing he said was "How's my bike?"

Thanks for the update Colapop, dizzam - seems everyone wants to streetfighter their bikes lately :eek5:

Shit, I was worried there for a minute - thought he'd been squished in a Col-hug...but it was "just" a low speed off.

Get well soon, DMNTD - you'll heal even faster if you don't get a hug from Colapop!

Sorry to hear DMNTD.......

Hope you get better soon.

It's those slower crashes that hurt the most. Coz you don't get to scrub off any speed before hitting the immovable curb.

I'd take my 100kph manfield highside over the 40kph Grays Rd crash anyday.

Get better soon dude!

3rd February 2007, 20:26
cheers y"all...sore but sweet as here. nice hole to the bone on the leg, bung shoulder and a tweaked knee. as far as im concerned ive got off light re injuries...was pretty concerned re my already toasted spine as i was sliding down the rd at 60 odd kms but after denting the armco with my shoulder my mind wandered elsewhere, strange that eh?
bike still runs so there may be a street fighter project coming...thank fark for oggy knobs. it's only a bike....all good.
lol re aprilia statements too! cheeky yet true
odd accident, appears to have been some crap on the rd leading up to the corner according to a kb"er riding behind me, i locked the rear despite breaking normally. people that have ridden with me know that im not a complete learner re riding so please spare the lectures
pic's and a complete run down when i can move proper-like

shit happens when you least expect it. got to have the sour to appreciate the sweet eh!

huge thanks to all that have and are helping me out...you know who you are!

lol...this post took 20mins! lol

Settle down son, it's a tough ZX10, it didnt come with an aftermarket 'catch the bits box'. The bike (and Chris) has come off pretty good considering, still runs, all the really expensive bits still in tact (headlights, indicators, etc). Looks like the bike decided to have a bit of a freak all on its own, doesnt appear to be rider error, its all kinda a weird one

Hey kitchen bitch:shutup: Ya gotta a corner named after ya toooo
Bloody corners
Welcome to the kiwibiker club :shit:
Glad ya alright Chris
Yea we've got DMNTD'd Dent in the armco now, with shoulder force like that maybe he should be in the All Blacks scrum or something

best wished to a speedy fix are on their way to ya.
but dam 60kph, at least you remember it. so what was it a left hand bend too?
or are you taking bids on the right?
Yea you guys both go to the left to the left, but the bike ended up highsiding thank goodness for crash bungs really saved a lot of damage.

Geeze...last person I expected to bin it........Tauranga must be soft on ya Chris..get well soon buddy and hope your spondi is okay.......guess it is a good excuse to ride the Aprillia eh.......
There's a spare Suzuki in the garage, step away from the Aprilia

At least you're okay brother, see you tomorow.
Now your on the afternoon shift, bring your nurses uniform, ya know he loves you to play dress up.:doctor:

Hey sorry to hear dude, at least it wasnt the Aprilia

Get well quick
Its all right everyone, the Apri is OK, it is looking sideways at its garage buddy now though, blushing at its nakedness

Get well soon DMNTD, thank god it wasn't the Aprillia, Duc Girl might have finished you off!:dodge:
You bet ya.

Just got up to check on the patient. He's much more comfortable this morning the shoulders a bit gritty though and will be sore for a while. Pretty impressive gash on the right leg no damage to the leathers though. Quasi back brace definately did its job Im told, no doubt, which was a hugh relief.
Thanks to everyone who came to the rescue, all the support has been incredible. Its going to be a quiet February for us now but happy both bike and master will be back out there again. Gotta say excellent gear and experience prevented a lot more bollix that could have been.
