There are 6041 KB member profiles (at time of posting), but over half have 2 posts or less - 3035 profiles to be exact. Most haven't visited the site for quite a long time. There are profiles there that were created in 2005 or even earlier, that have zero posts and have not visited the site in a long time, according to their profiles. Was just wondering if there were any plans to delete profiles that:
a) Have been inactive over a year, or
b) Are still on 0 posts after having registered over three months ago?
Just wondered. Some new members who would participate might not be able to get the username they wanted because of some ancient, never used profile getting in the way. Okay, so it's only a username. Still, if the profiles take up space for the site, it makes sense. Maybe it could be put into the terms and conditions of being a member that if you don't make a post within a few months of joining, your profile will be erased, or if you've made under 500 posts (just say) but haven't visited the site for a year, again, your profile will be erased.
People join a web forum to participate. Seems pointless to join and not participate.
Thoughts?
