hey all , or should i say G'day mate

as you can tell i'm a aussie rider just moved to auckland , looking for some help on the best way to buy a bike over here , the imports laws seem different although i know little about it , but thought this would be a good cheap option. option 2 is buy private or dealer . option 3 i have a madified cbr900rr that i have in brisbane that i could have shipped over . HMMMMMMM
any thoughts guys , is it in fact cheaper to buy bikes here???

P.s great site . will be spending a lot of time here , when not on the road .
(i miss my bike already , it's being 6 days)

Gidday mate

Bikes here in NZ are more expensive than Aussie. Plus you guys have more access to aftermarket shit too, so your tricked up blade may well be worth bringing over.

One thing is for sure though, if you go for a bike tour of the Sth Is you'll be freaked.

Ripper. Fair dinkum. Chuck another prawn on the Kiwibiker barbie.

Depends what you are into....the European stuff is waaaaay cheaper in NZ thanks to the imports. I cried at having to sell my Duke in Oz, but if I'd brought it over and had to flog it I would have been suicidal, they really are dirt cheap over here.
Yep, definitely a greater range of goodies available off the shelf in Oz, so unless you wanna take a punt on an overseas supplier prepare to be frustrated if you like to have a fiddle.
We brought one bike over in our container so actual transport didn't cost anything but transport costs to bring one in by itself would probably be a killer.

think it will cost me about a $1000 t bring the bike over , another question how much is rego over here and is insurance expensive .
