Not a bad bike for the money. If I was in the market I'd certainly consider it.

Bah. Suzukis are sold cheap to start with. They sell truckloads of them, then they drop the prices even more when they bring out the new model.
Is it any wonder that they don't hold their prices?

Yeah, you're not wrong (got stung when I bought a new GS1200ss and then they dropped the price $2k over a period of a few months....cost me $1 a kilometer for the 4000kms I rode on that bike...)
Shame though 'cos Suzuki is IMHO a bloody good brand.
As for the GSXR1100, well admittedly it's a watercooled one but geezz $4k or so......it IS cheap...in fact.....I WANT IT  ...no i don' t....YES I DO  :devil2:  ....but I can't :pinch: ....mutter mutter

I don't even know if its still for sale - a mate of a mate asked me to put it up here for them.
Suzukis are a good bike, but definitely built to a price. However, provided they are serviced well and often, I can't see any reason why they shouldn't last as well as any other.
To tell the truth I'd buy one tomorrow if I could afford one.
I'm quite partial to the roundish framed SV, or even the TL1000S if it had an Ohlins shock in the back...

In the latest Performance Bikes mag I picked up last week, there's a full review of the diffferent model GSX R 1100 models right from launch. It covers the strengths, weaknessses and features of the various models. If anyone is interested, send me a PM and I'll scan it.

93 first of the water cooled is one of the best, it should be unregisted 140+hp rw

Negated somewhat by its excessive bulk though...
Took Suzuki a long time to shed that weight.
