Hey all.
I recently had the grave misfortune to have a "V Rubber" branded tyre put on my bike. Its not what i asked for, but thats another story. After just 5 weeks it started to come unspliced and one side peeled up and rolled over.
The suplier blamed me of course, claimed i had it under inflated and ran over something sharp, well anyone that knows me can vouch i check tyre pressures twice a week.
So this is just a friendly warning. If you are running a "V Rubber" look out for a crack running across your tread. If in doubt, get your local dealer to check it out.
Now im back on sport demons. Great grip, but only a life expectancy of 6 weeks.

Yeah, its nick named the vee rubber smile.
Its where they rubber has been rolled onto the carcase, it comes apart and starts delaminating.
Apart from that, they have been the best value for money tyre i have ever bought!! and its got suprising amounts of grip for a cheapy!!

.
If it ain't what you asked for and you're not happy with it take the f**ker back. How many k's ? Track or road ? Hard or soft core riding ? I've got a Conti Sport Attack on the rear and Metz Sportec on the front - seemed ok at Manfeild last weekend.....not as good as Racetechs of course....but what is ?

V-rubbers were the cheapest tyre at the shop for my moped-power-rated bike, so cheap I said No Thanks, not good enough for my mighty GN, gimmie something better.
They really do sound like crap.
"Vee Rubber, the pride of Thailand"
I think that says it all.

I have raced on them and agree with RG these tires are cheap but are really really grippy, Yes that split appears but the tire seems all good the guy who owns the bike still runs them.
I got my knee down on them and had no worry about tire letting go at all.
You pay for what you get really and in my opinion you pay for a real good cheap tire.

the rental co. i do a lot of work for had a similar prob a few years ago, with a different tyre brand to yours.after a quick call to the supplier they were sent back for a refund,no drama.
its a WOF fail if your tyres have splits or cracks and if ya get pulled over you COULD get a ticket, but of course theres not much revenue in any of that now is there.......:whocares:
in short, you should get your money back.
and yeah,ye gets what ye pays for.

ok. I asked for a shinko, came back on a friday avo to pick my rim up and there was a v rubber on it. It was right on closing time and i had to make a call. My boss was back at work holding the workshop open so i could put my bike back together. The sales guys (who hanvt stuffed up in 10 years of shopping there) told me most gb riders around here run them and love them. Reluctently i paid for it. That 5 weeks was hell on that tyre. I ride the wheels off that bike, with a 50km commute down twisty roads plus hard rides in the weekend. Even so it should have done better than that.
The supplier sent down a free v rubber, my friendly bike shop put that on the shelf and credited its price off my sport demon.
Im proberly the only gb400 rider in the country that "NEEDS" to run pirellis!
Yungatart: I live in the middle of no bloody where now. Our broardband is about 1/2 the speed of dial up in town, quite simply i cant be bothered waiting that long for pages to load - my time is better spent in the shed anyway.

Yeah, i should add,
that i have it on a Yammy SR250.. with all of 5 hp.
It does get a thrasing in the twistys, but as proven, they are no good on larger bikes.
Anything 250 and under, go for it!
