Scott & Carissa and many other KB'ers are on their way around the coastline of NZ in their Ride for Life to raise funds for childhood cancer (http://www.rideforlife.co.nz). Today they're in the Far North. On Sunday Feb 11 they will be in Wellington and staying with Nasty and I.

There'll already be a bunch of KBers riding with them so what better than to end the day with a BBQ and jaw. I was looking for the thread that had the itinerary, either I'm dense or it's disappeared.

PM Nasty or me if you're on for it.

Yup, got that one, but what I was looking for was the full itinerary that had the details of the 11th in particular.

Went to the website for the ride but the itinerary isn't there either.

Kind regards,

We have that. We are posting each day's itinery on the day to avoid confusion with one long list. That way, you visit the last post to know where the riders will be etc....
Suffice to say, they will be leaving southern end of Levin near the Railway Stn sometime around 2pm to head south

And before that? After making the arrangements, I realised I will be in Wanganui that weekend so am coming down just for the evening and then going back (sort of thing you do on a bike).

I'd like to meet up with everyone and ride back ... any further info ... or is it still a secret?

where is whitby (still dont have my bearings, south of waikanae right?) and what time would it start?

Coming South, turn left onto Paekakariki Hill Rd, 157 corners later pass Grays Rd on your right, go through Pauatahanui shops, right at the roundabout onto SH58. On SH58 you have a choice of 2, 12 or 26 corners before you turn left into Whitby. I never use the 2 corner option :)

Can "the ride" detour over Pahiatua Track and call in on the sprints on the way through ? Then you can experience the Taka's as well ?

Ssssh, don't tell Jimbo.

According to MSTRS, Scott, Carissa and the rest of the Ride for Lifers (at least 6) will be leaving Levin railway station about 2pm. That would put them at our place just about 3.30pm.

That makes a BBQ at 4pm sound spot on to us. Drop me or Nasty a PM for the address details. That also gives us an idea on how many to expect.

Just an updtae. You may have seen Scott's (Zukin's) post today to say they're safely out of Northland and shacked up in a modest little villa in Devonport tonight. They're on schedule so far so Sunday for the BBQ at 4pm looks to be a goer.

I am leaving for Wanganui in the morning and won't be back until Tuesday (except for a Wang-Well-Wang dash on Sunday) I will probably meet up with the ride into Welly at Levin Suzuki dealer leaving Levin at 2.30.

Anyone wanting the address of the BBQ now needs to PM Nasty as I won't be on the net until Tuesday. (Not sure how I'm going to cope!)

See ya Sunday

OK who is on for the ride to meet Scott and Carissa?

If they are to be at Levin Railway leaving at 2pm how about we stage a meeting at Mobil Paraparaumu (Guy Weaver's gas station) at 12.15pm for a 12.30pm departure and we ride up to Levin and then ride back to Whitby with Scott and Carissa. Then enjoy the BBQ at Nasty and Grub's place.

I've posted another thread to make this stand out here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=43752

OK just one thing to add, if we tag along with the Zukins they do expect a donation of $25 (correct change) from what I read here http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=42029. Otherwise we could sign up on the website http://www.rideforlife.co.nz/rideforlifeopen.html

Love to but I'll be Bucket racing. Hoping to get to the BBQ though. (What a busy Sunday bike event wise!)

I've just gone back and read the fine print on the other thread and I see what you mean davereid was offering the stop at his place. Is that what Grub means then if we leave Levin Railway Station at 2pm we are still at davereids scooter shop at 2.30pm.

The offer for food at davereids didn't seem to be picked up but if necessary I could change the time for us to ride up to say 11am and we go to davereids and not Levin Railway station and partake of the food and the raffle.

davereid you there somewhere? Yungatart (who's keeping in touch with the ride crew) tells me now the plan is to be at davereid's at 2pm for the BBQ so is this correct. If so we will stick with a 12.30 departure from Paraparaumu and go to the scooter shop on Hokio Beach Road.

Thanks for an awesome ride back :D It was awesome to get out of the van and on the back of a bike :D haha.

Thanks also to Brett and Kari for putting on an awesome BBQ (My tummy is still full!!) and for letting us stay :D I'll also mention thanks to their neighbours, they're awesome, and I am staying there tonight :)

I had an awesome day, and I know the others did too :D So thank you to everyone!! And thanks to Merv for not getting me in any of the photos where you can't see me for my jacket being 10 sizes too big :P

Well a few of us (me, Hawkeye, Alexthekidd and Sels1) went up to Levin to meet the Ride for Life team of Scott (Zukin), Carissa and others including KBer Fazer. We met at davereids Scooters Plus shop. Thanks for the food and drink there Dave and Maria.

Racey Rider and u4ea met us in Levin too. Good to see you.

Then we rode back to the BBQ at Nasty and Grub's place. I took a few photos on the ride as usual but I'm off to Dunedin all week this week and I won't have time to post them tonight but I have left a copy on the PC at Nasty and Grub's place so who knows they may share some of them with you.

Thanks for the hospitality tonight.

Thanks to BuckBuckNo1 to being the main man on the BBQ.

I'm tied up with a function in Auckland next weekend so no riding for me for a wee while  so have fun and take plenty of photos while I'm out of town eh!

Good luck to Hawkeye for his licence test on Wednesday and to BBNo1 with his new bike.

As for you GurlRacer, if only I'd known you were staying behind me all the time.

It was great to see so many KB friends again tonight.

I left Wanganui at 1600 and was home at 1801 after negotiating the usual crap traffic between Levin and Paekak Hill turnoff (god it's a relief to be able to turn off up that road)

Has been great to have Scott, Carissa, Gurlracer and the rest of the Ride for Life team with us.. The cause is so amazing and their oddesy so much fun, how could we not be involved.

All the best to them and looking forward to when they're back on the 24th in Masterton for the Last Day ride home to Napier. The list is growing ... people are going to notice :)

Oh well, off to bed now as I have to be up at 6am to ride back to Wanganui where I am due to play in the singles at 9am.
