i now own an 82 gsx 1100.

fixed most or the oil leaks (most of em)

does any one know if you over fill the oil level, is it possible for the oil to leak out of the starter "o" ring or where the wiring comes out for the alternator at high revs? ie when i was giving it abit of stick on the way home tonight!!!

got oil all over the left side of the bike, chain, tyre swing arm etc.

any one had this or similar probs?

cheers

Ive had one of those things forever (Katana) the most likley leak on the L/H side around there is the barrell base gasket, the starter area is fairly dry internally.
the other thing to check is the non return valve housing in the middle of the top case by the starter, it has a shaped o ring under it.
I have heaps of bits for them too if you need any, for both chassis & engine.

mines just been "tuned up" by total motorcycles he reckons its got a primo engine in it and it pulls like a school boy!!! had abit of trouble finding a manual for it but got one from down south for $20.
gota find some newer side covers and misc bolts as the previous owner pulled it to bits five years ago and didnt put it back together very well.

cheersYou should be able to TIG those covers and tidy them up. There is a left side 750 engine cover on trademe, may be the same - http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Motorbikes/Parts-accessories/Engine-drive-train/auction-87101493.htm
If that has a hole in it it may explain the oil as the alternaters run in oil for cooling purposes.

You can get all sorts of individual bolts from the Milson Foundry too.

This chap may have a breather cover-
