View Full Version : Sweet moment with the police

You know how the police seem to be never there when you need them?
Well in this case...
I just got cut off by some scumlicking young punk in a black van, who smiled at me as he turned right in front of me. I emergency braked, I swear he wanted me to whack into the side of his home-painted shitbox.
I followed him to where he stopped outside his house, only 50m away, where I had a few words with him.
He said with a smirk that he hadn't seen me, and when I said I believed he deliberately tried to fuck me over he basically said "tough, sucker," laughed, and went inside.
So I left, couldn't do much else. I was so mad, I was shaking with anger. I was happy I didn't lose it and whack him or something.
But just as I left I saw a police car cruise past, waved it over, and told them what just happened, pointed to the van, pointed to his house.
They took my details, told me to go on my way, then they went and paid him a visit.
Sweet! Even if nothing more comes of it, it'll still be a bit of a shock for him to have the cops knocking on his door less than 5 minutes after attempting to kill a motorcyclist.

Good work Steam on both the emergency braking and getting the cops to have a word with that fricking idiot - you may have just saved an innocent bikers life by reporting him. Well done.

Good stuff. In my perfect world we would be able to shoot scum like that and get a good samaritan award for doing everyone a favour.

With your bike decked out the way it is and the police knocking on his door so soon - guess it gives added meaning to the scream:
"INCOMING !!!"

It's attitudes like his (the drivers) that really make me furious as a rider. They just don't think at all. A little fender bender in a car against his van, bit of a bump, no harm done, but a motorbike against his van could mean serious injury or even death. They seem to be stuck in the mindset that it's just going to be a similar result to a fender bender!
Every car driver who causes a motorbike crash should be taken to court and done for Careless Driving Causing Injury (or death). Maybe a criminal record and a hefty fine will wake them the hell up. Absolutely bloody stupid, no wonder we feel as though we're taking our lives into our own hands!
Sorry, rant over. :calm:
Oh yeah, and well done for getting the Police to knock on his door. Maybe that'll light a fire under his bum.

Should have hung around and checked out what the result actually was... an easy fails to give way $150 fine most likely...

Surely (and sadly) it all depends on whether the police witnessed the incident otherwise it's your word against theirs. Hence you'll never get a ticket when someone *555 you (unless you're still riding/driving like a twat when the police turn up!)
Although I certainly wouldn't condone following them home, taking note of where they live, taking 2 weeks off work and tracking their motions and then hospitalising the buggers one by one...no siree - I certainly wouldn't condone that kind of behaviour.....who said I was from Glasgow? It's a vicious rumour.

I can hear it now:
"I didn't see him officer."
"Really and why is that?"
"His farken bike is camoflaged."
"Er....as you were sonny."
Wanna re-think your scheme?

Heh, you are totally right. It is a bit hard to see, not the best of ideas for a bike colour scheme!! But it is SO cool, so it stays as is for now.
I've had two coppers now say "Hey, nice bike", overlooking the unwarrantable filled-in real wheel disc.

More likely, "It's his word against the bikers, nothing we can do".
If they were serious they would have asked Steam to stay around

Double good story mate, you are ok and the coppers have a wee chat with a dickhead who seriously needs their attention.
Really glad you didn't stack into him, good on the cops for taking a good approach. Just a thought, you might want to give them a call later on and check what happened.

Was in the cage on Saturday and stopped because the police had a road blocked off.
A nice person chose that time to drive into the side of my car, right in front of the cop! My comment was "I guess I can use you as a witness...?" elicited a slight smirk.
Sometimes the police are in the right place at the right time!

Don't you ride with a dayglo vest tho? I'm sure I've spotted you riding over Wadestown hill a couple of times (unless it was another camo bike...)

Heh, that'd be me. Yep, the dayglo vest was on, and the dude saw me, cut me off deliberately.
Filled-in real wheel disc? :spudwhat:
Here's a picture of explanation.
