View Full Version : Dangerous and Rashika - Where the hell are we?

I thought about writing a ride report, but I had too much fun. Suffice to say that Dangerous can ride a bit, and Moto Guzzis like the roads we shared - to say nothing of Buells, TLSs, Z750s and a couple of young fellas on real sprotsbikes who went all damp when it looked like it might rain and went home :).

Thanks to AJturbo, mud boy, and buellbabe for meeting us at Alfredton, after a bit of a wait, wilber for happily taking on tail-end charlie detail, sedge for providing a counterpoint to the red four cylinder twins by matching wilber's red TLS, Flame for showing Dangerous and Rashika "The Hill", pzkpfw for daring to make his first KB ride appearance with such dubious company, and to Ben (nice R1) and his mate on the TLR who's name escapes me. Thank you Paul in NZ for showing off that beautiful Triumph again and keeping the twin theme of the day going.

Thank you nudemetalz for putting in an appearance at the ferry terminal and giving the day a good Guzzi flavour.

Thank you Dangerous and Rashika for the excuse to have a day off riding.

Nice to catch up with Skunk and Skunk Control at AJ's, as well as Chancey and U4ea (good hangover girl!). Mud boy, you're a dag mate.

All those who went on the ride, feel free to add your own tales. There was some good stuff with trucks, keys removed from the ignition, fuel shortages that let me make three runs along the first part of the Pahiatua track, gravel roads, and awesome takeaways from Orua Downs. Thanks for the hospitality AJ.

Now for some photos.

One of these photos was taken under great duress - see if you can pick which. I guess you're not allowed to stand on that side of the road then?

Just in case you ever see any of these people in real life, here's a warning shot identifying them.

Left to right: Skunk, Wilber, Dangerous, Rashika, Buellbabe, AJturbo.

I had a ball and it was a pleasure to ride with a bunch of people who don't hang about, but value tidy, safe riding above land speed records.

It must be my turn to head South next.

Does someone else want to take it from here, or do I have to do all the work?

nah you're stuffed.

while we are at it: have you ever heard the saying "like sleeve of wizard robe"?

edit: back on topic the weather looked pretty fine to me

Ahh, the bitter rejoinder of the slighted virgin.

It pissed down, and if you look at the Alfredton pictures you'll see the tail end of the squall. It was really warm so the road dried quite quickly.

Plus I left my plastic pants on to ensure that it didn't rain again. Having plastic pants is one of the joys of being old.
