It's not that odd really. Yank rocket jockeys wear them during launches etc so she would have had them to hand and to a logically trained mind off on a mission it would be a good choice.

Maybe all that intense astronaut training fried her brain, or on her last mission she was abducted by aliens who gave her an anal probe!!But due to financial problems on their home planets space programme they could only afford the extra large anal probe this could be quite painful and hence the diapers as her poor old spinchter would be more stretched than a dutch porn stars!!!!
But hey it's America what more would you expect!!!!
