Has anyone used this and found if it is any good or useless? Was thinking of buying some but $200 a pot is a bit much. Anybody wanna split the cost?

Try wrapping yourself in tinfoil. I can't believe the lengths people will go to in an effort to avoid being caught speeding.
Hang on a second, maybe I should be cashing in on this phobia and develop some loonie "high tech" product that renders harmless all microwaves. Even better if it were to be "organic" or something involving essential oils. And ludicrously expensive to imply exclusivity or effectiveness. Hmmm.

I've done a bit of reading up about this and although I don't know exactly how it works it looks like it may be effective. It is only designed for laser certainly won't do anything for radar. Some of the overseas websites like radarbusters.com and the like have tested it reckon it works. You never know whether they are biased or not though. You paint it on your headlights and front plate (for a car) because these are the most reflective parts. That $200 can is supposed to be able to do 6 cars so potentially 8-10 bikes. I believe graham from radar direct has tested it, though once again it is in his interest to say it performs well.

You can buy IR leds quite inexpensively (maybe $5 each) - they are in the 950-1050nm range so they are smack on for police laser.
Motorcycles present very small targets for laser guns, and I would guess that a high level of ambient light (as generated by the LEDS) would make it very tricky for the operator to get a lock.
Riding with light on high beam may help - the operator has to look directly into the light to target you. May just give you a chance to get the brakes on.
The tricky bit would be the testing !

I remember an episode of "Mythbusters" where they tried to determine whether various coatings and gadgets would affect a radar's ability to get a reading from their speeding vehicle. None made the slightest difference.
I reckon there has to be a way of extracting oil from snakes and marketing it. Where's Steve Irwin when you need him?

Yeah but as you said yourself you are talking about radar and laser is a whole different kettle of fish. Proper laser jammer kits do work effectively but are hardly worth the money considering what they cost and the limited number of laser guns in service.

yup i watched mythbusters, and everything they tried was a big BUSTED.
Buy a detector or perhaps an invisibility shield.

That's not actually true.
Some of them actually improved the ability of the laser/radar to measure the vehicle's speed, thus helping the operator to ping you. :dodge:

Just ride using the 'cloak of invisability', ie a registered & WOFed quiet bike ridden in a conservative & responsable manner so as not to elict any interest from the law, works for me!!!

Too true.
I would recommend talking to Harry Potter, he has a pretty good invisibility cloak, but it might get caught in your wheel or chain at high speed?

I wonder if Dr Who's TARDIS is immune to detection?
