Does anybody have a XR25RE head they want to get rid of or have an idea where I may be able to get one. Yes, mine has cracked like so many others.
Thanks:(

Heh yes, mine too (CB250RS same engine). Go to Econohonda, they've got everything under the sun. I was in Australia on holiday, and I thought I'd try some wreckers while I was there, but they said `oh you'll never get one of those heads, they're all cracked. However, there's this place in New Zealand, called Econohonda... we ship stuff out of there all the time...'.

Thanks guys. You were right, I did manage to get one from them. Let's hope the old girl will run sweet once the new head is on.

The CB250RS engine is the old XR engine.
Isn't the XR250RE an RFVC engine?

Oh yeah, true, 1985 is too late for my engine. Does Honda always make such piss-weak single heads?

Dunno about weak.
My XR is regularly valve bouncing.

From what can remember the CB250RS had the same motor as the older XL250/XR250 (1979-1983)
I had one of the CB250 RS Delux model with electric start.
The XR250 RE were the 1984 model and were the first of the RFVC engine
(Radial Four valve Combustion chamber)
all valves are pointing to a central point ...means you can use slightly bigger valves and have a different shape combustion chamber.
I read one of the honda technolgy books when the came out
The CBX250 RS had the RFVC head and would fit the XR250 RE
I heard the problem was in the bushings for the cams wearing down into the head.
this was fixed on later models and have proved very reliable ever since.
I have the 1990 model and still going strong.
