don't bother with plastic thing unless a wrecker has them they all break, keep them lubed with chain lube every month and it wont wear or give problems, there are adjusters in the frame part where it goes under triple clamps into frame etc. if you can get a plastic them get atomic wreckers to make you up a cable (bring old one in) obviously slip the adjuster in before they close it up lol

ahh sweet. the reason i wanted to get the plastic thing is cause it looks like the cable is rubbing on the broken part and its starting to make it fray.... can i just adjust the cable so it doesnt rub on the plastic?

who are these atomic wreckers that you speak of? will i be able to get a throttle cable off them or do they make them from the old cable specs?

cheers

i see you are in wellywood.. darn. they are in north shore http://www.atomicbikes.co.nz/home.html and usually need the old cable to make a new one but you could probably find the length in a service manual and get them to make to length, but then you'd still need to get them the old harness.... most bike shops can help you make cable i'd say, not tooo hard, just gotta have harness at same time.

the broken part being plastic won't do crap to a metal cable, keep it chain oiled (squirt it like mad down harness etc etc)and as long as it's lubed it should be fine, fraying (atomic reckons) is caused by not lubing not the actual rubbing on faulty adjusters (all like that apparently). interesting. mine was brokena nd eating into the metal of the harness for 30000k+ before it broke, without lube too.... when throttle started getting hard and sticking thats when it frayed and snapped real bad after a month of that.
