Ok im curious as to where I can find my engine number - about to get a top end rebuild and need to find my engine number - so I know what engine my bike uses so I can get suzuki part numbers as Ive been recomended using suzuki parts... (rgv)
There is a number on the head of one of the cylinders, this it ?
Theres also a plaque near the frame number.. this has a few different serial numbers, could one of these be it?
Can I use my frame number to find it ? What else can I do with my frame number.. ???
thanx

frame number should include the bike model designation which would tell the guy ordering the parts that it was the model built in 199X... From this you should be able to order parts for the engine. Not sure where yours will be on the RS250, but the R6 had it on a 'plaque' on the front, the ZXR on the side of the engine casing down the bottom. Have a look down low, generally thats where it'll be.

on my zuki its on the crankcase top half, near the clutch. Now obviously a GS1100 isn't exactly the same as your motor but the number will be on the top half of the cases, usually fairly easily visible from beside the bike

Try the yellow pages. Apparently you can find any number you want there.

Hey just being curious , im not sure but i'd be picking that the aprilia parts are just reboxed/branded suzuki parts !? Would save you a bit of hassle by going to an Aprilia agent with the chassis number. Or is your reason that they charge a premium/ are Italian made?? (in which case go Japanese made)
As i said just curious.

Well with the question you asked you must expect some replies like that:dodge: In fact some other these answers were what I was going to say.
Its a fair question to ask but be prepared for the answers.
How about RTFM (read the friendly manual) or try here (http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/index.php)
just for some other suggestions
