I've warped a front disk.

OEM Kawasaki disks are a fortune.

Any suggestions? I've tried F1 Engineering but they don't answer the phone or return calls.

EBC Contour disks look the go, but the UK operation won't ship to NZ and forward me to their Australian distributor who cranks the conversion price to 5 times the UK figures.

GAH! it's doin me head in.. there's an aftermarket place in Waihi (?) I think, that puts new discs on your old hubs. PlacidFemme should be able to remember. Have a look on Trademe for member: gee10 and ask about some in one of his auctions

How much is a fortune? I'd surprised if you'd get a good NZ made disc, considering you're warped that one. I'm still waiting to here something good about the Waihi discs, except the price :(

I bought a pair of front EBC Pro-Lite rotors + HH pads from a place in the US about 3 years ago. No problem with shipping, cost was about NZ$800 landed.

I'm trying to find a record of who it was I bought from.

Search is my friend:

I have ordered EBC Pro lite discs and HH sintered pads for a total of $760 nzd including shipping. (onlineparts.com in USA)

Braking.com parts

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

are available from bike shops dealing with:
CROWN KIWI ENTERPRISES LTD

Site's under construction nadroj, and the Italian parent site has an English language option that doesn't work.

Met the owner in NZ last month on a ride to Whangamona in the backblocks of Taranaki - see my posts.

That's the one. Trace routes time out and ping returns are very spotty.

I'll talk to Crown Enterprises, but I don't like my chances. There's no Z750 listing on the Italian site.

I bought a disk from Freddies Discs, great quality I thought. Laser cut from single piece of steel. Even threw in a pair of brake pads too.

Great guy, OEM is way to expensive.

Another approach Jim is to download the EBC catalog and look for interchangeability.

For example, some Yamaha disks are interchangeable with Ducati.
$880.00 each for the Genuine Yamaha
$450 each for EBC replacement
$375 each for genuine Ducati

Go figure.

Yep. I've got the EBC catalogue MD4141LS or MD4141C is the part. 139 quid each in the UK, $AUS600ea via the Aus distributor. UK company won't ship, says go to the Aus distributor. Silly people.

One question I did not ask,Jim,any idea how the disc got warped to start with??

James Deuce
14th February 2007, 14:29
No idea. I've not had anything like a panic stop at high speed, wetting the disk when hot, or stopping hard and holding the lever on.

Yes it is out of warranty.

Yeah, that kind of shoots that idea down because they look specific to Kawasaki.

Still, I am using Hayabusa disks on the GSXR and they are larger diameter and about half the price of GSXR disks (I guess because same disks used on so many Suzuki models), so it does pay to hunt around.

Doh,about the warranty
No I thought it could have been to do with the "wee off"
Then could have been insurance

bungbung

As you've the ebc part numbers, MD4141LS and RS for left and right sides. You should look for a US site willing to ship to NZ. USD$168 each.

Ask here:

If you live in the US, you can buy them on Amazon.

These guys will ship international:

MD4141C ZR-7S (ZR 750 H1/H3) 01-04

Z 750 S K1/K6F/J1/J2/J6F Naked

Sorry the pic was of a ZR-7.

I understand now ;)

Going for Metal Gear disks. They are substantially less wallet lightening than most other options and available now rather than 3-10 weeks away.

I dont mean to go to far of subject but if a warped front disc was replaced, it would/should be common practice to replace the brake pads as well??? YES / NO???

James Deuce

Probably a very good idea.
