Bollocks:angry: Does this mean that Prime are not showing it, coz there's no way that I can afford to line Murdoch's pockets.

It is true, here's the email -
SKY Sports has secured the rights to the MotoGP, the coverage will be starting in March however as a schedule is yet to be confirmed please see the Skywatch magazine or our website closer to the time as schedule details will be available once confirmed.
Kind Regards

How come it wasn't good enough for Pay TV over the last few years? You plonkers have alerted them to the fan base so now real people won't get to see it. Bet you they stick it on a channel that requires a Digital subscription or one of the really expensive terrestrial options.
I'm gonna download illegally. FTW.

Ferk it!
Thanks to everyone who emailed Sky. :(
Now we either don't see it, or have to pay to see it, instead of getting it free.

I don't believe that people are bitching about it being on SKY. Now we can see it live and not have to wait till Monday night and try to get through the day without some Tossa telling you who won. GOOD ON YA SKY TV :first:

[LEFT]How come it wasn't good enough for Pay TV over the last few years?
I remember when Sky lost it a couple of years ago - we all bombarded them with emails and the reply was that they had attempted to purchase the rights, their offer was rejected by whoever it is that sells the TV coverage rights, and that they would not negotiate.... how true that is, I don't know, but that was the line Sky were feeding us at the time.
I agree with WaiYam, last season was a complete pain with delayed coverage, trying to get through the day without finding out the results!

I ain't exactly rolling in it either and with 3 kids and a big Mortgage we don't get to go out a lot so $56.00 a month is pretty cheap entertainment.

Is prime dropping it? They get it through foxtel (I think) in aus, so mebbe they will keep it too? Has anyone asked?

Sky bought Prime last year Death. The chances of Prime showing MotoGP are nil, and yes lots of us have asked.

FANTASTIC. I also wrote in to SKY but have no answer.
People with SKY are "rolling in it". Go around the poor suburbs of any NZ town and see how many people have a SKY dish...

I'm glad Sky's got it, even though I haven't got and can't afford Sky.
WTF is up with Prime showing the Phillip Island round at 1am in the morning or whatever ridiculous hour it was...stuff that...
I'm sure they could've shown it at a reasonable time too, but didn't want to shift the B grade trash shown from 6:30pm onwards.

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how they handle this, chances are it will be on SS2, hopefully live, but hopefully with replays during the week as well. I guess TV1 will still get there roundup package for a Sunday afternoon? Wonder what happens if it clashes with WSBK, but they did have SS3 they kicked into action at times as well. I think Sky are doing a revamp of their channel numbering next month, it would be good to see a dedicated motorsports channel or two!

Ahh crap. We can't afford sky either, but for some reason the wifey got suckered into the phone sales job & we got 2 months free, so after a short while we decide that all of it is pretty much crap with the exception of some of the documentary channels.
The only advantage is now we get all the free to air channels well. We just ditched all the movie channels & sports channels as I don't give a shit about some school child team sport like a lot of the country & at least MotoGP will be on Prime. Or would have. . .
Right, Deano!!!! How clear is that garage?

15th February 2007, 12:57
& at least MotoGP will be on Prime.
umm I don't think so. As people have said before. SKY bought Prime last year. So MotoGP will be on a Sport Channel not Prime.

Wonder what happens if it clashes with WSBK
The only date that clashes for SBK & MotoGP is July 22nd - Moto GP at Laguna Seca and SBK in Czech Republic, but as they are in different time zones it shouldn't matter..... as long as the coverage is live.

Would you please record to DVD or VCR the first race at Qtar on Sat night and a mysterious envelope will appear in your letterbox bearing a donation from me.
If it works out I'll ask again ... 17 more times!
Seriously though, can you do it? Thsi race is on SS2

I finally succumbed and got SKY last year because we just couldn't get the free to air stations clear enough to watch them properly, only to be horrified to find that they didn't cover motoGP after-all. So that is good news. Always enjoyed shell helix sport on tv1 when we could get it but it was a bit like the history channel when it came to motorbike racing.
