And that you ride like a nana.
(That's not my opinion, TS - I was just reminding you of your oversight. I think this might be the first post you've forgotten to mention how slow you are. You must've been too excited at the prospect of carving trails of sparks everywhere...)
Err... did I mention you forgot to say what a slow rider you are?

yeah not to much to remember, but still enough for me to get cocky in the wet, and do damage, i must say i am a rather fast rider in the wet. so i will go faster than i should and could be a problem espically on a track, last time i was on a track, i got a cocky, hence reason why our 600 bandit had no tires by end of day at taupo

I'm keen to go out and watch/support/take photos for a while and then take a ride on the open road for a couple of hours. Would be good to have some company.

What a great day! Everything went well (for myself anyway). I found out that the front brake pads were all worn out so I was having to brake WAY earlier, even then I ran wide a few times but still stayed on the track.
The front tire has been on the bike for fuck knows how many Ks, so it was making things "interesting" for most of the day. Anywho, I was there on the track on a beautiful day and there was no way in hell I was going back home with out doing better than a 1.05. I gave it all I had on the final session and I was pleased to come back and see that I had managed a few 1.04s! :2thumbsup
A new set of race brake pads and a change of front tire should have me ready for the club champs at Pukie next month. Can't wait!! :2thumbsup
Thank you Quasie, mini-me and 750Y for timing me!!

Here are a few of the better pics I got, I took about 70, but most of them were blurry. Ah well, that's part of the beauty of digital cameras, you can rely on luck to get good pictures and not have to pay for lots of film ;)
I couldn't figure out how to post them in the kiwibiker gallery, so I put them on webshots:
http://community.webshots.com/album/174870685XTyjfR
(edit: The same images (but downsized a bit) are now also in the kiwibiker gallery here:

but most of them were blurry. Ah well, that's part of the beauty of digital cameras,
With a digital camera, you need to prefocus the camera prior to the bike coming in to frame (set the focus). Aim at the general area the bike is going to be when you want to take the pic - half depress the button and then wait until the bike comes in to frame. This way you will get away from either blurry pics or pics with no bikes in them

That's kinda what I do, I set the exposure manually and then lock the focus to something that's at about the right distance (I hope) and then wait for the bikes to come around the corner.
I think my problem is the shutter speed, and probably how I'm tracking the bikes.
Still, it's a fun challenge :)

NIce pics erik & zed :niceone: the video footage i got wasn't to shit hot, newbie on the camera  it was a good day all n all, MR was pretty some most impressive lap times, good shit bro and holding off a rather fast lad on a track dedacated 04 R1, as me, well i got bored in the second session as my rear trye wasn't playing the way i'd like it to, so i took to mud wrestling with my TL by castrol, we both came out rather messy but no damage to either which was a surprise, only to find a nice little stone jammed in my brake lever, locking the front wheel on.
But would you believe it, no RAIN for once :sunny: .
And cheers to F/F for the weather update in the morning, cheers mate.

k14: Drifters are as cunty as ever but now days they let them go 1st, then cars, then us, so its not that bad. We still had to adjust our line through the esses by going a bit wider to avoid the crap and Castrol was full of dust later on so we couldn't put the power on too early but it was a pretty sweet day all up!
Far out! Cheers for the pics erik and Zed!! :)

Shit yea man!! Have a go at it by yourself on the very first session of the day and then tell me how you went since it's going to be your first time ever there. I'll give you some tips etc about lines and all that. From that you can then see how you go on the second session. After you feel fairly confident about the track, I'll go out there with you.
