Bah! Everything goes wrong on wednesdays....

'Things' happen, bad things, things that stop me getting to wed night rides and wed night Classic Club nights. I REALLY wanted to go tonoght because it was ride / pub night... Sigh.....

Work.. argh... Daughter #3 was late, traffic was, well, traffic 'nuff said and I knew i was cutting it awful fine but... Headed over the Paekakareiki Hill road and come across brad (young canadian Guy been here 3 days) laying in the ditch beside Kawasaki.... 'D'oh.... Motorist in attandance gives me the thumbs up and I really need to get going 'cos I'm late...... Well I got 500m before the old - 'Cannot leave a fellow Motorcyclist in a ditch being attended to by motorists can I?' feelings kick in... Drat.... I do have a first aid kit in the tank bag... double drat and U turn

Oh well......

Hour goes by.... Interesting hour filled with Policemen who did not want any help figuring out what happened (painfully obvious) and they really don't like motorcyclists do they? Or maybe I should have shaved?

Holding the IV bag....

Stuff (you know)

He aint too bad but I'm no doctor, busted collar bone maybe?? Bikes - erm - secondhand!

tried to catch the lads - went to Makara Beach etc but too late...

argh..

I hates wednesdays....

Me too Paul.
Spent ages re-configuring the shifter detent in my Thunderbird, put the column back together and checked all was well with the indicamator switch thingy - and it was Not well.
Front right indimacator played dead, then the outer right rear one.... then the inner right rear one... then the middle one - argh!!!!

No1 son and I spent an hour or more with test-lights, jumper wires and shit like that before I firgured (guessed?) the "magicblackboxwhatmakesthelightsblink" needed a look at - sho'nuff a set of the points inside were skew-wiff:innocent:
I re-aligned them (the factory has a set-up that prevents them being misaligned but the obviously never consulte ME) and all was well - donch just love old-school 'lectrics ya can fix?

THEN CB arrived home from work while I was adjusting the starting inhibitor (that magic gizmo wot stop ya startin an automatic car in gear) and testing it - and then it did one of those things where the engine started - but the starter-motor didn't, turned key off but still it went on!

Yelled at CB to pull the battery lead off (No ribald comments from the cheap seats thanks!) as I had left it unbolted, she took one look at the big propellor thingy wizzing around near the terminal and promptly rebelled - blood woman!
Had to scramble from under tha dash and dash around the car m'self to rip the lead off! WEDNESDAYS??? arrgh!!!

I'm with you about Wednesdays (well this one anyways). Go out to the bike to ride off to Valentines Day dinner and find I had parked it all day with park lights on ... arrggghhh. At least an hour before AA came.

Which corner Paul? I was finally over there around 6 and saw at least two new tyre skid marks into banks that weren't there yesterday. Maybe one of them was a bike one?

The guy who should have been in an ambulance was the dude who passed me in the twisty bits on the back wheel last night about 5:15. He v nearly lost it when the front came down as he fishtailed into the corner. Must have been within a mm of the tank slappers and a high-sider!

Ohhh, did I mention it was a big bore v-something (black of course - booooring) on dealer plates!

I had an SDM (person is paid more than so must be a better and more important person) try to stitch me up by blaming me for a TelstraClear Router not working.

I work for Datacom.

I also have a bad Wednesday attitude, so I told him where to go. Have sit round in a little room and "work it out" with a bunch of people tomorrow.

This will mean Thursday will be bad too.

I wish I could trade motorcyclist in ditch for SDM in ditch.

Poor Brad.

Good on ya Paul, at least you did the right thing mate.
As for the rest of you..... I used to complain about having no shoes, until I met a man with no feet. It is all a matter of perspective.
Enjoy and ride safe.

Wednesday was good indeed!
Had the immense privilege of handing back a jap import "loan cage", to the panelbeater/owner and getting the Holden back.
Thank you, TV3, for driving into the side of it when it was parked.

Thank you mitsubishi, for making a piece of shit on four wheels, that explains to me WHY boi-ricers HAVE to modify their cars to make them more powerful!!!!!!

This is the second "mitsi" I have had the un-privilege of driving in a short space of time. Having to keep accelerating while going downhill has been a learning experience...:bash:

The smooth twisty bit mid way between Battle hill and the top (more towards the top). he was going from the kapiti side and it looked like a classic high side to me but I wasn't there to see it. Bike was damaged on its 'outside' so I'm just guessing it spat him off and over the top for a grand slam..
