Wonder what the takas are like at this time of night?

Cool Jim2, was that you?
One day I'll be able to go that fast up there, but I still have this fear of the edges of my lane, too many lunatics in vehicles that drive half on the other side of the road, and that drop on the other side looks harsh! So I'll stick to being a nanna for a bit longer. :scooter:

Now that's interesting! I have a video camera and was thinking about the bike cams you can get to connect to it, but they're about $595.00! Was considering how to just mount the video camera on the tank...:innocent:
I'll check out the dig cams you mention!

yes its the hill, that looked a bit old though - there was signs up marking the new wooden barrier on the other side and the surface looked awesome compared to now...

Woo hoo! That was FUN!!!!
So that's what it feels like to do the hill at more than 30! LOL. Normally takes me about 20 minutes to get to the top!!!
Thanks for the cool ride!

There seemed to be a large amount of traffic about for a Sunday morning! Especially passing-lane blockers...

LOL, handy tip of the day # 643!
Think I prefer Jim's vid to any that I could do - the corners are spectacular (well, when compared with my 'ohmigod, ohmigod, there's a corner, slow down' type riding  And the ginny's not really the right machine for getting one's knee down in any case! Oh, and I'm not allowed to ride at the mo, of course :( *sigh*)

Gotta get me down there sometime on the RF me thinks...

Great vid Jim! Makes me wish they'd extend that road another 20k's or so, it's way to short.
And the ginny's not really the right machine for getting one's knee down in any case!
Maybe not a knee but a boot? Lissa? (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showpost.php?p=933087&postcount=7)

You used?
What size memory card did you use?!
Nice vid Jimbo.

Sony DSCP8, which does 640x480 movies, and a 128MB memory stick.

Holy crapamolie - I would never have guessed you'd have managed to squeeze that footage onto 128Meg stick. Rispek.

My new still camera takes 7.8 megapixel 3000x2000 pixels photos and they end up as 1mb jpegs.... even im amazed, horay for asains!
makes the 2gb mem stick that came with it seem pointless

Have you seen this thread: Oregon Camera (Bike Cam) (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=40489)
It looks like a cheap option for a bike cam. Then there's also spycams and surveilance cameras on trademe that might do the job if plugged into the A/V in on a video camera.

Jim, there's absolutely no excuse not to be braking from 200+ going into that first corner! Also, tighten those lines up! I thought that 750 could turn laddy?
PS, good video, when was it? I see they've removed the bit of wooden post on the apex of the left hander after the second passing lane.

One day when I have good tyres and good suspension I hope to be able to do that
I leant that far the other day on a wet patch and fell over. And before them hitting a bump on the road at full tilt sent me flying. I've turned into a Nana rider now

Is there anything cheaper you could get that can record video using one of those cameras?

Maybe something like this:
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-photography/Portable-audio-iPods/MP3-players/512MB-under/auction-87683822.htm
It says it can record AV-in so it should be able to record from those cameras. The cameras would still need a power source though. I don't know what resolution, framerate or quality it'd give you.
I haven't tried any of this stuff myself, it's just something I've been thinking about but don't have the cash to see if it'll work.

Interesting. Still seems like a bit much
Ideally I'd have something that was just between the camera and a flash drive. Surely there's something simple like that out there. Doesn't have to have a screen or other fancy stuff. I'll have a look on the interweb
