yeah its pretty expensive but I rekon it'd be worth it to see Nate Adams perform!!! If you have seen his Full Circle DVD you will know what i'm talking about. This guy is an awesome freestyler, so many backflip combinations, would be an awesome nite if him and Travis Pastrana were both jumping...
Should be a great nyt anyways

went to the palmy one the other night, i too went to one a while back and was a little so-so on the whole thing, but was quite impressed this time round. only a couple of yanks but man, that kid Levi Sherwood is friggin amazing for 15!! he out extends everybody on the tricks.
Chuck norris was wasted on the second jump of the night, apparently knocked him and some of his teeth out.

Something to do with faith in humanity, it's slowly disappearing though. I hate showing my photos if they can't be seen cleanly, to a point I'd rather not show them at all.
i have a corporate box for this weekend... gonna be mint!I was allowed full access to the grounds, that photo (getting a full page in a few magazines) was taken from the corporate box in palmy so you'll have a good view ;)

That photo is of Levi, he was awesome. Did you see a photographer running around the grandstand, standing out in the back with a fluro vest on? that was me ;)

Yeh i'm heading along.. gotta love christmas prezzies. Gonna be in the crusty compound whatever that is...
Never been to the north harbour standium what's the best way to get there after the bridge and where to park the bike?
faithrider
24th February 2007, 13:08
go over bridge get off at the exit after upper harbour drive i think called Albany Exp. towards albany village. Turn right at traffic lights then left at roundabout, then follow that road down and get parked as close as possible, there will prob be stadium parking which will no doubt cost $$$.
hope that helps its actually really easy to get to.
faithrider
24th February 2007, 13:11
sorry once u get off motorway go straight through intersection/roundabout then right at the lights towards albany village
faithrider
24th February 2007, 13:14
oh yeah for u guys who don't wanna pay for parking i suggest that you do pay cos its a little risky parking around Burger King area, it's free but security is pretty much nothing, we used to park there for rugby games but cars got broken into last time so just gonna use the pay areas cos they will have security there.
Awesome Enjoy 2nyt

it was a great show, perhaps a little to much talking though.
My favourite trick was the turn back, and the backflips were pretty cool.
I thought the kiwi riders were excellent, especially the 15 year old.
Would be good if they could add two inline jumps, and a wall to turn on like at the x games, but i'm just asking to much.
Great show.

went last night with wife and kid and it was a great night and my boy wants to get a bike of his own now. Only problem was getting into and out of the stadium which was a real pain in the rear. Cant believe they want to hold the world cup final if Eden park falls through, all I can say is God help us all

Mate Eden Park is worst then that after a super 14 game, or cricket. I live in Mt Albert and its blocked up everywhere. World cup is going to be chaos.
Was a good night saw Glen in his overalls, Me and Jonny hurling abuse( as you do when see another KB member) at him.
Aslo saw GTAE, GR81 and Loneranger.
On the pricey side for beers 22bucks for 4 piddly speights.
The turndown was by far the best trick (IMHO) trying to bring the bike back from 90+ degrees, very impressive.

traffic wasnt a problem when you're the last to leave lol
had to polish off the beers in the box haha

The show was fucking awesome. Those guys are amazing, they make the bikes look like a part of them. Wicked how they gave that kid a pit bike. Traffic was sweat as for me to get home. you guys probably took the worst way to get back.
My only complaint is with Ticketek and the stadium. My wife got me tickets for my birthday as soon as they were available. and she asked for the very best seats we could get and they stuck us behind a fucking pillar. I had to sit quite forward on my seat all night just to be able to see. Also my ticket had a seat number but no block number printed on it so there was a bit of searching around to find where the hell my seat was. I will be complaining to ticketek as that was really bad service.

Yeah was a flippin amazing show, backflips from quads and snow mobiles were awesome to watch. Was pretty windy for them but they still busted out some pretty big moves and they put on a really awesome show. Levi that 15 year old kid went off he was pulling moves better than the pros were. He was getting more extension and looked awesome.
That whip competition was awesome some of the guys were nearly backwards and pulling it around!!!
The pre show seemed to drag on abit, would of been cool to have sim pit bike races or sumfin???
Anyways was an awesome show and well worth the $$$
Bummer bout the seat cheese Ticketec should have known about that!!!

i wonder why they didn't have a band or two as pre-match entertainment... much like a couple of years ago, seems kinda weird.
faithrider
26th February 2007, 10:01
yeah that would of been good having some bands, though they would probably wanna jack the price up for tickets more then!!!
But yeah would have definetely made pre-show better
GR81
26th February 2007, 11:06
they had shihad and blindspott for the same coin last time round.

What pre show would that be then?? I made sure we were there at 6.30 for the advertised pre show and all we got were a bunch of idiots making fools of themselves for cheap crap giveaways (being drunk obviously helped) I took my kids to this show and while the main show was fantastic no complaints there the pre show looked like a (OOOOPs we forgot!!!!) last minute effort. Shame really. Hey whats with Mary Perkins she was not out at all in the main show. What gives there anyone know?
A great show tho.

the fact she only has 1 trick? lol
faithrider
26th February 2007, 18:55
haha yeah pre show or whoops we forgot!! Thats so true. A band would definetly be good. I heard that this show was better than the last, I didn't go to last show so I can't say. Any opinions on this?
Dunno bout Mary Perkins? I guess GR81 is right she jumped when they introduced her and maybe that was all she was meant to do. To do a full show you probably gotta do a few tricks/combos.. Tho I would be stoked if I could ride like her, shes pretty awesome. Maybe one day if I dream enough lol.

It was the same in Palmerston North, seemed very thrown together at the end but it was the same pre-show you guys got too.

i think its that and i am not to sure if the boys would be 100% comfortable with her in the multiple bike trains,
she does pretty dam good tho

We then were witness to what was supposdly a "World First".. not sure how much was hype and how much truth to the matter but it was mighty impressive none the less.
Backflipping a full-sized Quad bike over 65 feet!! And then the guy came out and back flipped a snow mobile for the first time ever (so they say...anyone south see this trick?)
That's funny they broke that same record in Palmerston North earlier, we didn't get to see the snow mobile though apparently it had mechanical problems, feckin' good show though.
if you guys had trouble getting out after the show try doing that while pushing someone in a wheelchair
GR81
27th February 2007, 13:45
i saw them back flip the snowmobile a couple of years ago.
maybe it was a distance thing?
faithrider
28th February 2007, 11:39
yeah they said was a distance for 75feet ramp to ramp gap. Being the same for the quad.
The quad guy made it quite easy but snowmobile landed quite high on the ramp and only just pulled it around. Damn impressive
They can flip anything these days. I wonder what they will try and flip next possibly a sooped up old persons mobility scooter...
