Don't know if you get this mag in NZ, but for any KBers from the UK, I'm on page 112 - it is a product review of Bering Duke 2 gloves.
Quite pleased with it - if nothing else because they've made me younger than I am!

I'll have a look for it - there's a good mag shop not far from where I work (Magnetix) that has heaps of bike mags.

Well bearing (no pun intended) in mind I've got a couple of minor criticisms of the gloves, not really!
RiDE wanted reviews of kit - and honest ones (which are the only ones I know how to write!) - so in went ones of my riding kit.
When you think about it, even bad reviews are free advertising! Which is why so many kit makers hand over freebies for reviews.
(Of course, there are exceptions... Great one from a few years ago - I saw a copy of a trade magazine which made me laugh. Apparantly a major kit manufacturer complained to a certain major magazine publisher as they'd handed over something like £70,000 (yup, 70,000) worth of kit to assorted employees - but barely had anything in print!)

No way mate,Ride dont do cheap plugs,if somethings crap they say it`s crap, that`s why they`re the best-selling mag in Britain.Havn`t seen Bob`s bit yet but if it even smelled like a plug Ride would have binned it.They`ve done some really good "undercover" stories as well, most worrying was the one where they had an R1 with all the numbers filed off,no paperwork e.t.c.,i.e. classic "nicked bike".They tried several ways of selling an obviously dodgy machine and whether via offering it to breakers,on Ebay, ads in papers or whatever if they`d been genuine felons they could have shifted the thing several times over.Seems like not many gave a toss if they thought they`d be landing themselves a bargain bike.

I do have one other bit in there - but it is anonymous.
They were doing a thing about dealer tricks (like where they say they'll tax your bike for 12 months as part of the deal and when it turns up it is only taxed for 6 months... that kind of thing).
I've contributed to that, but didn't want my name mentioned as the dealership in question strike me as a nasty bunch.
Given that Ride have used part of what I told them, hopefully they'll be one of the companies that they try out on one of their dealer servicing tests or something and show them up publically.
As Moko says though - Ride don't do "plug". The magazine's reputation is based on showing people up when they deserve it - they've been threatened with legal action before now for publishing their findings on a product test for example, but always refused to back down and oddly enough, the court case never happens...

OK - it is the September 2004 issue - and it is the CBR600 special issue with a blue, yup, CBR600 on it! Aside from that, it shows the new BMW sports tourer, an 'L' plate (promo pic for the 'Your first 600' feature) and a steering damper.
That should hopefully make it easier to find... of course, it might not be out over there yet - I get my copy a day or so early as I subscribe.

I used to get this held for me every month but it suddenly stopped a few years ago and when the shop made enquiries, they were told it was no longer brought into NZ. Things may have changed now and someone else may be bringing it in, but I haven't seen it for years. Damned good magazine, my favourite. Great product tests, even if you couldn't get the gear here it gave you an idea of what to look for.

Ive been in Bike Magazine myself...pictured along with some likeminded biking mates relaxing over lunch in the Champagne region of France. This was back in December '97 when they did a spread on their guided European Tours.
