I'm thinkin of buyin one - can anybody advise me what to tlook out for, and does anyone know about them being limited to 180kmh.
Will it accelerate as fast as a 900 Hornet or RF900, I want to keep up with them, and out brake them if possible - at an affordable price, and I think the GS1200 could do it?
Any one ridden any of those bike to compare them?

I have one. Done 17000 km sine lat April on it.

Yes they are limited to 180kph but that can be bypassed (search KB for instructions). Speedo doesnt read over the 180 though.

Mine does 33kph per 1000 rpm in top gear.

Good on gas, I get about 18-20 km per litre.

Could do with the bars raised a little.

They put out 100 hp at crank and 94nm torque. Acceleate well.

Top heavy so you have to commit to a line on a corner.

Engine is very restricted. Exhaust is goddamm ugly and heavy.

Carbs are tiny.

Timing is retarded from the bandit engine.

Lots of room for warming up the engine.

Found the suspension on mine is shit. Revalve and springing front forks, replacing rear shocks.

Parts are expensive. Read $125 for a gear lever.

Still a real fun bike to ride.

Even if I got another bike I think I would keep this one just to see what I can do to it.

I did around 30,000 on mine before I traded it on the VStrom. I would love to have kept it as well as buy the Strom, but couldn't justify it.

The engine is very de-tuned at only 100 HP, and very easy to warm up. One owner near here has changed cams and carbs and has 124 HP at the rear wheel on the Dyno. He reckons there is probably another 16 HP waiting to be released. Personally I found the 100 HP more than sufficient, and will easily be more than a match for an RF900.

Read my report on how it handles a good fast ride on http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=12630
