Have a look at the Suzuki website, there are a couple photos there. The M109R is more of a 'sports' cruiser than a more traditional looking bike like the C90 - which is also a smaller engine at about 90cm3 compared with the 109cm3 on the M109R.

Ah, I see. Thanks for that explanation.
C90 pic attached... huge difference in look and style.

Yeah, I was just wondering if it was the "same or similar" bike under the skin..
Obviously the only thing in common is the name!
Unfortunately for me I don't have much technical skill, I just preferred the look, feel and sound of the bike and the riding position is perfect. But yes I do understand that the Gixxers had a fairly good influence on the M109R and it is more recent in techs than the C90.... or that was what they told me!

I really enjoyed my ride on an M109R. A black one. Whoar. The only thing I'd change is the bars.

Sweet, out of interest, what would you do to the bars if you could change them?

I'd move them about 50mm closer. I found reaching them a bit of a stretch.
I see that Suzuki are now doing a very smart cissy bar/parcel tray kit for the M109R. That should significantly improve things for any totty-on-rear.

Just got the bike back after its first service this p.m.
Suffice to say it went in there clean and gleaming. But it came back to me tonight dusty, muck on the exhausts, dried water stains over the bodywork.... grrrr. Whatever happended to the obvious... good customer service and making sure it looks at least as good as when the customer dropped it off??!!
Bloody expensive service too.

Out of interest, the loan bike was a GSXR600 K6.... felt like I was humping a small coffee table. I couldn't wait to get back on my bike and rider her hard.

I voted for option D  Now come on. Standards are standards!
But joking aside, I still think it's a really nice bike. Shiny! Never ridden a proper cruiser before, only sprotsbikes / commuters and a very butchered GS500 (http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=44251). LOL. So not very representative. I'd like to see it in the flesh, have a sit on it maybe to see what you mean about riding position.
Burst out laughing at work causing half the office to glare at me when reading your last post...

Hows Rotovegas? well I work and live here, but I get out of the place as much as I can. My wife and I went for a ride to Whakatane yesterday for brunch and returned back along Matata was about a two hour round trip. we get away most weekends and tend to hit the cafe's for a meal and break away from the kids. We have friends that have boulevards in Tauranga, Tokoroa and Whakatane and some times organise a few rides. We have friends here in Rotovegas that own M109's as well and have gone on a few rides together 1x black, 1x burple. It's awesome to ride with these guys and it gives you a chance to see what your bike would look like, if ya know what I mean. But we really enjoy riding with other rider's with the same class of bike, and enjoy the company, and some times its great just to ride alone. Will have to meet up for a meal some day, meet half way or some thing. :niceone:

phat240 ,109 riders com seen you on there as well , dude we need to get more 9's on here , to many boy racers here  , they all try to fly instead of riding, they should no by now kiwi's don't have wings, get a bit sick of how fast you can go into a corner, , ask them what they saw when they were riding , answer the white line, riding my 9 i saw everything cows, sheep, beaches pretty woman , ugly men, great countryside:rockon: a 9 is a hotrod ,its there to ride and to be seen and jaws to drop as it powers on by, and draws a crowd when its standing still ,its in a class of it's own

whats the pillion seat like on the 109 ? How does the navigator get on after a half day ? Can the 109 be set up as a tourer with bags as the c90 has or is it just a show pony for the rider only ?
