This was another great day out. Departing from "The Peg" hotel we looped up through the Waiau and Leader Valleys. A round trip of 200 miles (we are all calibrated in miles per hour). Fabulous weather and company. So all you guys who have an early "Japper" parked up in the back of the shed, get some fresh gas in it and pump up the tyres for our next run on the 25th of March. Watch this space.

About what year do they cease being classics and just be considered old shit?
(There's an 82 GS1100 in my shed)

but the riders generally think that 1980 is about the cut off for our group. That's not to say that your 1100 isn't a classic because it's a very significant bike in terms of the development of the motor-sickle. We had a 1992 Kawasaki and a VMAX along on our last run.

I'm not speaking for the group I ride with but I see a lot of youngsters out there and my guess is that they haven't a clue about the bikes and all of the developments that went before them. My guess is that 90 percent of riders today don't know what a kick starter is let alone how to use one.

I was overtaken in my car by a chap last week and all I could hear was the wrenching squeal of his rusty unlubricated chain as he went by. That's not motorcycling it's just abuse (off topic but sort of relevant).
