yesterday was a record breaking day! its been over a year of getting the piss taken outta him and well.. it all changed yesterday.
boomer.. contrary to popular belief, wheelied the cbr600rr squidmachine...
he was having confidence issues popping the clutch (everyone does when they first start!!).. so just told him to give it a go, cover back brake etc. and...
my god...
he got it up!
congrats
going into kopu he got a decent few seconds sustained too..
i felt very priveliged to be the first person to see this amazing feat.. i guess we will have to get photos at some stage, with a clear visor etc.
had a mean fang through whitianga>kopu.. was an amazing road, cheers for riding with me boomer, had such a ball ain't ridden like that and had so much fun since i took the 250 round the loop 5 months ago.... just the issue of rear tyre lasting much longer is going to be a problem >_< i was buzzing all night. i'm absolutely screwed though got a headache and feel like crap at the moment but it was worth it.
so yeah, congrats to you boomer, not just 2 wheels anymore.. nice pace too!
edit: and yeah under newbie/wannabe bikers for a reason :rofl: d;

Someone hasn't told thw whole story....
I was kidnapped and heading out of teh pettrol station i took a right only to be told im going the wrong way. So we head back through teh gorge and next thing i know im flying up and over the hill... tristan upfront putting black lines everywhere and me trying to keep up. Its a quick pace and someone decides to pull wheelies at every given opportunity; i'm still concentrating on the next corner and hes poppin the front up.
so i had a couple of goes at raising teh front and some good some NOT SO GOOD but in all fiarness she did come up.
I had a huge headache all the way back north, from dehydration and sunstroke i think, but the ride was bloody good... and tristan .. your a cheeky bugga ;) nice wheelie too mate past the rice burner Audi wanting to flex his muscles.. that'll teach him
you and that 10 looked good going through teh twisties mate.. effortlessy throwing her round teh tight stuff and flowing in the sweepers.
hey.. i got it up !!!

Sounds wicked fun, though from the first story... Im too shit scared to even try giving it revs and letting the clutch go...

19th February 2007, 13:16
i didn't clutch any of 'em mate.. they were all power/bounce and up and straight back down sort of pop 'em ups...

19th February 2007, 13:17
Though I've seen CBR250's being wheelies, I think you would have to give alot of revs and fuck ur clutch up, so I'll pass.......for the moment. Just wait for a 600.
Anyways congrats boomer, keep working on it :)
Edit: I know boomer was on a 600, i was just talking about 250s

Pussy..try it on a $hite old 80's bike. Come to think of it, the only bike I couldn't get to wheelie (no matter how much clutch slipping) was the Z250 twin.
Pulling a minger through to 2nd on a GP100 was the trickyest.
Only kidding. Congratulations and don't get too carried away.

Sweet, i will do. i think we're planning for Thursday/friday day time and there might be a run out on sunday..
It's nothing special yet, i'm sitting back, speed up to 55ish, roll off and then gassing the fucker. With a front sprocket thats been dropped a tooth it aint too hard. The fast straight stuff is WELL OUTTA my reach at teh moment  And clutchin is next on teh agenda:gob:

don't need clutch on most bikes i guess really? but it makes it much easier with one to rape i'd say. on my zxr250 it didn't do crap as it was pretty rooted, i'd just tug it from 6k on throttle and get it up that way, got onto balance once or twice (scary!!) but sold it soon after, very hard to get the timing right but when you did it came up nice.

we got to the end of the road and i look back at him....he was looking a tad pale, but apparently i'm a good rider.

i remember you came out of corsa once trying to bring the front up on your zxr 250
at which point i pulled out and appeared beside you on my a model zxr250 on one wheel....
good times
was a shit wheelie for me tho
balancing point wheelie down k road....nw that was a thing of beauty
hint: if you want you zxr250 to wheelie,
put 3ma tzr250 clutch plates in it with only one steel plate between each friction plate,
makes it grab realllll nice
i found this out when i had to replace my zxr's origional plates after a 3rd gear burnout which soon after roasted 3 clutch plates to nothing more than goo
damn i need a bike again
