As General Manager of the Franz Josef Glacier Hotel, thank you all for your support on the topic of the bikers walking out of the hotel without paying their bill.
The account in question has been paid and as a mark of our gratitude, we would like to offer any kiwi biker (including HRC and Blue Wing !) one free beer, if affiliation ID ( if you have that! ) is shown.:Punk:
What do you think ?

cheers mate.
There is only about 6,000 kiwibikers on this site throughtout NZ
(not including those that are overseas at the moment).
Can you cope if we all arrive on mass at your hotel?
Not sure how many riders are in the other riding groups.....

Many thanks for your kind offer, Anfield.
I was one of the riders in the other group that was there that night, and I am pleased that everything has now turned out OK. Your staff were marvelous under very busy circumstances, and we enjoyed every minute we were there.
As for the free beer? That'd be great and I'll shout you one right back.

I trust the free beer extends to non-alcohol drinks
Hmm, ID cards, ha, guess patches & stickers & logo clothes will have to do
Great to read the tab has been paid.

Auckland to Franz Josef. 'Tis a fairish way to ride for a Speights . So, perhaps, a convenient arrangement for all, might be that any KBer stopping at FJ may have my free Speights, and then buy me a replacement one when in Auckland (or when we meet). I think that seems quite fair and reasonable ? My great grandfather Ikey McTavish (aye, he who was so tragically mothed to death) used to get good value from such little arrangements.

Do you have a web site showing rooms and rates as I'm doing the west coast next month and Franz Josef looks like a good point to stop for the night.

As the KB Spokesperson, I'd like to thank you personally for your very kind and generous offer. My job here at KB is to facilitate such generosities and to ensure that your kindness is not taken advantage of. As such, I have run a check against our database and we have just under 2000 active members. 1987 to be exact. May I suggest that you take advantage of our Distribution Centre which is located in St Mary's Bay in Auckland and is designed to cater for such logistics. I have PM'd you the delivery address and again on behalf of KB, a big thank you!
Yours sincerely

I missed the other thread related to this subject last week and have just caught up with it now...I'm assumming it was the KB donation that paid for the bill????
On a seperate point, I stayed in the FJ hotel last year and can whole heartedly reccommend it, they allowed us to check in early 'cus one of our party was not well and didn't charge us a cent extra......If I'm down that way again I'd stay there for sure...

Glad it's sorted, no one needs that kind of publicity. It may be a while before I take you up on the free beer, but if I am ever in your area, I will make a point of popping in for a meal (which I assure you I would pay for - LOL!) to help make up for the other incident.
I had a friend who worked at the hotel about 20-odd years ago and she loved it. Never managed to get there - but there's still time!

Mate - good for you for taking the trouble to log on and say thanks - don't know about the rest of you guys but to me, that speaks volumes.
Not sure the beer thing will work - (oh go on, give SpankMe a deal 'cos it's his site) but next time you see a motorcyclist just remember we are not all bad eggs...

As I'm all but down the road, I can greatfully recieve anyones beer that cannot make it to your fine establishment, I will bring a list of Kiwibiker names with me that are unable to attend and cross their name off the list as they are consumed, that way no one will be able to say they didnt get their's as we can cross reference it with the list, Foolproof plan and no one gets ripped off.
Oh I may require a nights accommodation as well, Can't be seen drink riding :innocent:
