because they are so new, how many 04 R6's have you seen, how many K4's have you seen? how many CBR600RR's have you seen???
personally ive only seen 1 K4 a few R6's and 1 CBR600RR and 4 ZX636's and NO Zx-6RR's
Its just because they are so new....

Probably because everyone is taking advantage of the good prices Suzuki is offering on new models.
Seems to be all the new bikes I see lately are Suzukis!

There are 3 ZX636's in Wellington that we know of including my wife's. They are all the 2002 model. There have been a couple of 2003 Zx636's sold in Wgtn but we dont see them.
Celtic summed it up with Suzuki doing cheap deals on most models. There dont seem to be many new models on the road besides Suzuki.

Actually this is a fair question this Bike got such good press it has so much more tecnical gain and weight reduction and huge power to weight ratio.
I would love to own one But maybe I have the answer? superstition? I have owned Kawas but not green ones? I hav'nt seen any non green livery 636's
I had a green bike once a bonnie and it was a bag of crap and binned it three times. I wont buy green again!
this may sound like bollocks but red cars are niche and have a proven lower resale.
I know kawa offer a choice in livery but usually import green to launch this is a mistake. Why is Green unlucky? well that just superstition but as a colour it suks.

The problem really is how many new bikes do you see on the road altogether? Sales aint what they were in the 70's and there is more diversity as well (read that as Harley, Buells and European stuff which were basically dead in NZ 20 - 30 years ago) so the likelihood of seeing a whole lot of any model isn't that great. Not like say 1973 when every bugger and his dog rode a CB350 or something like that.

I didn't get my CB350 until I was 18 (1985). Must have missed out as a youth... :weep:

It's not a question with a straight-forward answer. The variables include how many dealerships there are, profile of the model (race wins, etc.), public perception (bike-buying public, that is), pricing, promotion, reputation of the dealerships, reputation of the bike, availability, etc. etc.
Suzuki do a pretty good job of promotion, seem to have biggish dealerships (and maybe more than other brands), and seem to appeal to squids.:Pokey:
I don't think Kawasaki has enjoyed very good sales for a long time, perhaps not since the halcyon days of the 70s, when their models were blitzing everything else. Why else do you think they joined up with Suzuki?

I don't know if it's still true, but Kiwi bikers have always wanted big bikes it used to be 750's and up, now it's litre bikes.

still true Lou Girardin most people go 250 -400 then 1000cc, alot of the biker guys in tauranga see i got a 600 and go pfft at me cause i got a little 600.
but it suits my riding i to do a ton of riding around ton, and 1000cc bikes arn't very good for that.

Yeh,I was thinkin this too.Look around and you'll see more R1's than R6's,CBR 900/1000 than CBR600,Gixx thou/1100 than Gixx750/600 and more ZX10/9 than ZX600/636......Despite the fact that the smaller one's are more than most will ever need.......
