It is almost 9 weeks since my accident..6 weeks in casts in a Hawkes Bay summer is cruel.
Casts came off almost 3 weeks ago and I have been going to physio ever since.
Today I decided that it was time I got back on the wee beastie that so unceremoniously tossed me off, so Mstrs (he worries about me, so had to ride shotgun for me) and I headed off about 6 pm. Negotiated the cars in the driveway just fine but stalled about 4 times trying to get on to the road. Eventually we headed off for a somewhat gentle pootle around some quiet roads.
I actually did better than I thought I would, kept to a fairly consistent 110 120 ks - apart from the corners where even the most gentle curve sent my nerve running for cover to start with.
As time and distance progressed I relaxed and improved and it felt great to be back on the bike again.
I only did about 40 ks because my thumb, which got broken in the bin, was really tingling, like bad pins and needles but not painful, just uncomfortable.
I'll be back on her again tomorrow - if I can beat hXc to it, that is.....

You can choose to not participate in the obligatory bin, that is what I have done.
Not every one crashes and I don't see that it is a necessary part of your learning curve.
Learn to ride properly, take courses in riding if they are available in your area, stay aware and focused, ride your own ride within your limits at all times and you don't need to.
Remember, sticky side down, shiny side up - you'll enjoy it much more that way!

Not being a smartarse (well, maybe knowing me) but I reckon you may have jinxed yourself.......

Glad to see your back in the saddle mate !!

Yep! Especially as his bike is not going, and mine is....it will be a different story when he's bike riding though, so I had better watch what I say....

Don't you mean my wheel tracks?
You could only do that if you ride very slowly in the corners - the nana riders club is very exclusive, you know...you have to be nominated to be a part of it.

I've warned you before about this breach of Nana copyright!:nono:

My lawyers will be in touch.

Nobody out-nana's the Ultimate Nana.

And a true nana does not RIDE (even very slowly) in the corners, he will dismount and push the bike round any doubtful corner.

No! A true nana dismounts and slides around the corner, like I did!
One must be careful though, as it does break bones!
I have said before that you need to get your nana arse down here so we can sort this out in proper nana fashion - gloves and handbags at the ready. Wear your non leak underwear as Nadroj has an aversion to skidmarks in his ute!

Yep!
How can Colapop be in there when he doesn't have a bike at the moment - and where is Ixion's name - the nana of all nanas, well, he thinks so, anyway, and DMNTD is a mad man, not a nana.
