It seems that people don't buy music any more. (maybe all new music is crap?)
What were the last 3 albums you bought? and in what format?

For me it was:
Tool - Lateralus (on Vinyl)

Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (on Vinyl)

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath (on Vinyl)

Miles Davis - Ascenseur Pour L'Echafaud
Hank Mobley - No Room for Squares
John Coltrane - Coltrane's Sound

Yeah I don't buy music much either. The type of music I listen to is often difficult to get hold of in stores (and out of print, too), so sometimes I don't really have much choice.

Well that may come down to a philosophical debate about what constitutes music these days, and if buying MP3's from iTunes or the like counts as a music sale.

More specifically I'm of the belief that music cannot be bought, as music is what happens when a musician picks up an instrument and plays it, either for their own enjoyment or for that of them self and others in a live setting.

One can however buy a recording of music.

To whit, my latest three acquisitions:

Dream Theater: Train of Thought (CD)
Tool: 10,000 Days (CD)
Black Label Society: Shot to Hell (CD)

I always buy my music, unless its a song that I cant find anywhere in store.

The last 3 albums I bought were

The Legend of Cash
Cash The Legend (4 cd box set)
Jimmy Eat World -Bleed American

I have 1992 songs on my pc, and all but 124 of them have come off a cd.

I buy the cds then rip them to my pc at a high bitrate. Makes things sound real nice on my speakers. You can actually tell the difference between some crappy low bitrate rip, to something that is a higher quality if you have good enough gear.

The last three, mmn, have to think...

The Who - Then and Now (CD) for the other half
Nickelback - All the Right Reasons (CD)
The Rolling Stones - 40 Licks (CD)

Plus a few traditional Christmas CDs to keep the oldies happy on Christmas Day!

I want some Mazzy Star now, just got to track their stuff down.
