Americarna day 1 of 4 started today with a run south from New Plymouth to Stratford and Hawera.
Over 500 American classics, Hot Rods and bikes are entered with day 2 being a cruise around SH45 to Opunake.
Friday night and Saturday they will be on display and cruising the CBD (which is closed to normal traffic).
Finishes on Sunday afternoon, so anyone visiting should take a look as the whole town has got behind it and turned on the atmosphere.

they went through stratford thursday afternoon after being in hawera,took about 40 mins or so to get to the end,even after 5pm still stragglers driving past,was impressive,even closing main drag in stratford and that is part of state highway 3 for couple of hours,worth the look if you can get to the naki.:yes:
